here’s Mattis:

“The contemptuous words about the president attributed to me in Woodward’s book were never uttered by me or in my presence,” Mattis said in a statement. “While I generally enjoy reading fiction, this is a uniquely Washington brand of literature, and his anonymous sources do not lend credibility.”

Yes, but the president and his party aren’t into Keynsian economics, and many of them regard Franklin Delano Roosevelt as a terrible president.

Go figure.
 
He also said no one told him about Woodward wanting to interview him, then says that Graham did mention it to him. In the same phone call.

None of these sources say where the quotes attributed to Kelly and Mattis come from.
Were they spoken by them, released by, for example DoD.
We just get recycling of stuff on plain paper with no signature in the Trump tweet.
It may very well be that Mattis and Kelly have given these statements on the record through usual channels.
I just haven;t seen it yet; just rehashing of Trump’s tweet. And, in light of the track record, I am skeptical of Trrump’s tweets.

Unnamed “sources” in anti-Trump articles doesn’t bother you. Remarkable that named sources would.
 
I highly doubt the truth of this book because it is reported to be nasty, designed to be extremely salacious slander and false quotes by those mentioned in his book - have strongly denied. Also, this book is not something one needs to absorb in glee - its a wrong. “Anonymous” is a tool used by liars.

So Mattis and Kelly are lying and the unnamed sources who have no reputation we’re aware of are telling the truth because…reasons…

So, then you’re suggesting Woodward and/or his sources are lying? Both parties can’t be telling the truth. Either Kelly and Mattis said the things Woodward attributes to them, and they’re lying in their denial, or they didn’t and Woodward is.
