No one is asking you to vote Democrat, but that hardly means that you have to just give the Administration a near-constant blanket defense
And that’s where a lot of the Trump fans have such a problem. There is no in-between to them. Either you approve of Trump and everything he says/does, or you are “filled with hate.” Any criticism at all, of anything he says or does no matter how outrageous, just proves your “hatred.”
That’s the real “Trump derangement syndrome.”

And you know what the other is?
Clinton Derangement Syndrome!!!
It is a curious phenomenon that rears it head when some one presents and undisputable fact about Trump that cannot be countered, the person experiencing this “Clinton Derangement Syndrome” begins talking about HRC’s benghasi incident or HRC’ emails or HRC’s imagined crimes.

More mental gymnastics. Some of those tackling the suggestion that Trump can appoint consitutionalists to the Court claim they won’t overturn it, so that isn’t a reason to vote for him. That’s not certain at all, but we know if a Democrat was appointing the justices, there would in fact be zero chance, and we’d likely see more litigation by groups like the Little Sisters of the Poor.

Others say if it happened, it would create a constitutional crisis, which while silly, makes me wonder why anyone doing something so clearly in line with God’s commandments and Catholic teachings would care. Do what is right, and let God handle the rest.

There is no coherent argument against Trumps appointees in this thread, or any I have read, unless you are a liberal or progressive, or just don’t like Trump. I get finding Trump unpalatable, but not to the level of denying the good he could for life and your own faith. That’s unbelievable, but not my problem, either.

I actually think his appointees are sound conservative judges. It’s just that they won’t overturn roe v Wade

They may not. Overturning it a monumental, historic feat. But the arguments against his the types of nominees he wants are all over the map from the resident Catholics around here.

We never know how a person prays to Our Lord or how repentant he may be with his sins. We do not throw stones at people because we heard that a person sins - presently or in the past. We all sin, all the time.

Good thing that Christ told us in Matthew 7 and again in Mathew 15 how we can know!

They are only 2 votes, both in the same county. How are they relevant?

When I refer your faith, I mean your Catholic faith, not personal beliefs, whatever they are. As such, there is a great deal each President can do that impacts the Catholic faith.

For if not, voting would be a purely secular issue to weigh in on. But I’d say the opponents of gay marriage, abortion, pornography, and lawsuits against groups unwilling to pay for contraception coverage would disagree.

Now if you think Presidents cannot impact these things, either through order or mlm appointment, so be it. I disagree.

Let me ask you in specifics rather than generalities - do you like the choices of Gorsuch and Kavanaugh for the USSC? That is just one thing to discuss.

Donald Trump has been on both sides of same sex marriage, abortion (remember, he praised Planned Parenthood during his campaign).

Aside from reinstating the paper tiger know as the Mexico City Policy (which goes in and out of effect depending on who sits in the White House), what has President Trump done to reduce the number of abortions in our country? Has he made any effort to end IVF? Embryonic Stem Cell Research?

Setting aside the fact he paid to have a sex worker keep quiet about their relationship, Mr Trump was on the cover of Playboy Magazine in 1990 and has maintained a friendly relationship with Playboy Industries Inside Trump's History with Playboy as It Makes Correspondents' Dinner Debut | PEOPLE.com even talking about his own daughter’s posing for the magazine!

The contraception mandate order is a great marquee headline. The experts say that after President Trump’s restriction, 120,000 women (out of US Census estimate of 75.4 million women of childbearing age in the US*) will have to pay $4 to $5 per month for their birth control pills. (Most women in the US have access to a WalMart or Walgreen’s where BCPs are on the discount RX list. Others can get their contraceptives from federal/state funded health clinics for free.)

While it is a drop in the bucket, sure, he has been able to do one thing for a very few people.

Have you read Gorsuch’s book " The Future of Assisted Suicide and Euthanasia: "? I did buy a copy and read it and found it to be a very well presented work. It demonstrated to me that Mr Gorsuch has a reasoned approach to moral issues. I believe he will be a solid Justice. He has also said that he believes RvW is established law and famously stated he would have “walked out of the door” had President Trump ask him to overturn Roe. He does not meet the standard of justices who will overturn Roe as were promised during the campaign.

Kavanaugh, I like his stand on soft money donations to political campaigns, I absolutely disagree with his rulings of metadata collection by the government. I have concerns about this rulings and cannot get a clear picture if he stands with the Church on the very serious issue of torture. My jury is still out as I’ve not had time to read as much during this time.

There’s been so much discussion on the news already on the contents of the book I don’t really need to buy it. Also, from those who have read it, they’ve said that pretty much every major point has been leaked in from other sources or by Trump & Co’s actions themselves. so it’s only some of the details that some may find as being new.
