New Carl's Jr. Commercial with Paris Hilton

This is slightly off-topic, but I fail to see the attraction with Paris Hilton. I mean, I just don’t see what the big hoo-ha is. All right, so she’s a busty blonde. Big deal.

I suppose she has a decent enough physique, but unless you’re into simply using women for their bodies and throwing them away like old candy wrappers, that’s not enough to make her attractive, or even interesting. And what assets she does have she misuses, like her face; she could be pretty, but instead she tries for the “seductive” look, and all she ends up with is an expression that looks like a cross between a pouty adolescent and a drunk.

In addition, her antics and her lifestyle are utterly, completely revolting. Is this the type of woman you’d want to introduce to your family? Is this the type of woman you’d want to be the mother of your children?

No, thank you.

It looks like the Paris Hilton commercial may be off the air!

At least, it’s not being shown around here, in southern California, where Carl’s Jr. headquarters is located.

Instead, they’re going with Popeye and Wimpy. There’s also a very funny one with a chicken–they give the chicken a bunch of tasks to perform, which, of course, the chicken can’t do at all.

These are so far removed from what they had before that boycotting seems to have worked!

Okay… I am not a prude here, but this add strikes my wife and me as something very close to soft porn. I am tired of the in-your-face sexuality at every turn–especially in regards to kids who see these commercials. Anyone else feeling the same way, and, if so, what are you doing about it? I am thinking about writing some letters, but the whole issue just irritates me.

We monitor our tv closely. Our kids don’t watch anything that hasn’t been screened by us first. We do our best to keep commercials out of the picture, and never watch the news in front of our kids. I agree, hopefully the Paris Hilton fad will soon become passe and she will try to make a comeback in 20 on a show like “fat actress” another thing I would never watch…

I saw the commercial once or twice and my husband and I thought it was disgusting. Very poor taste.
