It seems that this is taqiyya/kithman at its best! (taqiyya - lying and concealing ones true intentions so that all will submit to Islam when it gains the upper hand)

The news about the new koran for us dhimmi is out.

I would suggest to everyone to get the koran off the internet now before they give us the revised koran for dhimmi. They do not intend to change the koran for themselves, of course.
An Islamic Association in Oklahoma has presented an impressive idea for non-Muslims in America to learn more about the faith.
The organization began in 2003 after the unfortunate treatment by American soldiers of the Holy Koran in the Guantanamo Bay prison facility.
The association decided to teach Americans about Islam and Muslims, and they recently decided to print the Holy Quran in English.
This English language version will come with explanations of the Holy verses, an introduction to Islam, the fundamental of Islam, and how to deal with Islam. This idea has yielded considerable success, and the organization has raised a lot of contributions from Muslims and non-Muslim Americans. The organization has said they have received many requests from non-Muslim Americans for a copy of the Holy Quran.
I have downloaded 4 of the 5 accepted translations of the koran.

-Pickthall
-Alhilali Khan
-Yusuf Ali
-Shakir

Can’t say that I blame them. If I could control what others thought about me, I would.

Decades too late. The English Koran has been out for a long time.

Edit: This is an English Koran that is pretty close to what I read in college, though it dosen’t include the introduction: majalla.org/books/quran

What is the point? Wouldn’t that be like issuing a non-biblical Bible where you can read this really cool story except for the whole “God” thing? 🤷

To intentionally deceive us: 17:45-76 and also 6:25 6:110

And the ironic thing is that they tell us we corrupted the Bible!

Look what they do. 🤷 And it isn’t for their own followers - it is for us - to pacify us.

There are several English translations of the Qur’an… anybody can read them–Muslim or not. Just like anyone can pick up the original–Muslim or not. Who cares?

Technically, those are interpretations, not translations.

Hi

Quran is in Arabic and it was revealed on the heart of Muhammad from GodAllahYHWH; it is prestine and secure and it is guaranteed to be preserved for the text as well as the meaning. One does not find two Quran with different texts in the world. It is also preserved for its meaning with the teachers sent from God in every century; one such teacher is SecondComing 1835-1908.

One may read any translation of Quran with the text; I give one here for the Arabic text, translation in English by Sher Ali and tranlation in Urdu by Mirza Tahir Ahmad- the fourth Caliph of the SecondComing 1835-1908.

Thanks for the link. It’s quite neat and user-friendly. How is this translation compared to the previous well-known ones like Pickthall, Alhilali Khan, Yusuf Ali or Shakir? Is there any marked difference?

Thanks.

What is Alhilali Khan? LOL…

I use the following site to examine the Qur’an in English, and I’d recommend it for all of you as well:

searchquran.net

It has six different English translations, as well as the Arabic and transliteration.

The two translations I consult most frequently are the Muhsin Khan and Saheeh International ones.

This is true. There are three different versions of the q’ran.
One may read any translation of Quran
If you are a muslim, you’ve just demonstrated that you know nothing about the q’ran, and islam.
translation in English by Sher Ali and tranlation in Urdu
In as much as neither of those are translations, you are doing a good job of destroying any credibility you might have, as regards explaining either islam, or the q’ran. …

Muslims say the Koran is a word for word account of what God told Muhammed. There is to be no interpretation because it is what it is. Anyone Muslim or non-muslim, who changes the Koran is in error as it would not really be Islamic.

It is a lie to hide the more violent and less socially acceptable parts of their faith.

There are a number of translations–the parts you find “socially unacceptable” have not been removed or altered. They aren’t necessarily translated well but are there all the same.

Note posters like Vickie who frequently quote translations of verses to attempt to validate their opinion that Islam is evil. 🤷

This is a dangerous question, but a valid one (in my opinion).

Do you think that it would be a good idea if Muslim groups DID explain verses in the Qur’an so that it would be harder to get the wrong idea from them?

Since the Koran is word for word ANY translation is an interpretation. So any Koran in any language except Arabic is incorrect. The only way to understand Islam is to understand Arabic.
I don’t think Islam is evil, I just think it is wrong in many ways.

Since a Koran in English is incorrect according to Islamic understands, it is bogus and you might as well through those “english” Korans in the garbage.

What is dangerous about this question?

Of course Muslims explain verses from the Qur’an. Just like Christians explain verses from the Bible and so on.

Alright. If I may probe a little deeper…should Muslim groups get together and say “This is the only way to understand these verses and still understand Islam as a religion of Peace?” This would force the more violent people out of the fold, so to speak.

It is a dangerous question because it is more opinion that fact. I know that you like dealing with fact more than opinion 🙂

Uh… hold on.

The Qur’an–there is one. The word means “recitation” and yeah, Muslims believe it to be the words of God verbatim revealed to Muhammad. It doesn’t exist in any other language. Translating it requires some kind of “interpretation,” that’s true.

The only way to understand the Qur’an is to understand it in Arabic, but it is possible to understand Islam without being fluent in Arabic. Obviously.

The Qur’an doesn’t exist in English, not really. But a translation is incredibly useful for non-Arab speakers in order to help them understand the meaning. Sure, some things are lost, but they are useful tools for understanding the Qur’an.

What is dangerous about this question?

Of course Muslims explain verses from the Qur’an. Just like Christians explain verses from the Bible and so on.
Except that Christians don’t claim the Bible is word for word from God. Christians (with the exception of Evengelicals) believe the Bible is divinely inspired. Muslims believe the Koran is perfect and inerrant.

So the Bible is open to interpretation and the Koran is not.
