And changes to the accessibility of abc aren’t going to create that support. I know it is anecdotal, but only one of my peers whom I knew will enough to ask became unintentionally pregnant while on abc. The rest simply used no method.

As for societal changes, I’m not sure how or if they can come about anymore. Yes, some men and women do wait for marriage, but the pressure they can exert is limited as a myriad of sites and apps allow those not interested in chastity to find each other without social stigma.
I also believe limiting ABC access wouldn’t change much unless there is evidence or strong arguments to convince me otherwise. I was actually focusing more on why so many people choose not to abstain. Individualism is rampant in the West and it would appear it has caused many to not realize that humans are social creatures and really are interdependent.
Sites and apps do allow people to avoid stigma but the focus must on the demand side. Changing minds is better than stigma. Societal changes can happen and still do through mass media. Some people argue that it mirrors shifts in society but you can make a strong case that it actually drives changes. But I don’t expect mass media in the West to be on the Church’s side anytime soon.

Yes. Many people who identify as pro-life think contraception is the answer. Different anthropologies.

No one has bothered to credit the hard work of pregnancy help centers. I’ve seen a wall in one covered with pictures of children who faced abortion.
Maybe if the pro-life organizations bothered to systematically collect any data at all, they would get more credit. But I suspect the reason the pro-coice groups are the ones collecting the data is simply because the pro-life groups are too afraid of finding out that their walls full of pictures were simply didn’t have a meaningful impact on the overall abortion rate.

Yeah, chalk it up to fear. As though pro-lifers think it’s only about numbers.

Considering the increase in 40 Days for Life campaigns, it certainly is reasonable to think it makes an impact. It’s easier to count a dead body than someone who turned away we may never know about.

People really think it’s taken fifty plus years for contraception to start making a dent on abortion? Really? I just read a study the other day that linked increased pregnancies in one school district with increased condom distribution. The overall picture is complicated.
