Bishop Fellay of the SSPX has initiated another Rosary Crusade. The first Rosary Crusade was for the purpose of freeing the old Mass, which occurred soon after its completion. The second Rosary Crusade was for the unilateral lifting of the excommunications against the SSPX Bishops, which took place within days of its being delivered to Rome - “on the very same visit I made to Rome in January to put in the Sovereign Pontiff’s hands our bouquet of 1,703,000 Rosaries, Cardinal Castrillon Hoyos put in my own hands the decree lifting the “excommunications” of 1988” (Bishop Fellay).

This third Rosary Crusade is for the event that will bring about the victory of Our Lady and the prophecied restoration of the Church, which has been described by many saints (particularly Ann Catherine Emmerick) as beyond human imaginings. This third (and probably final) Rosary Crusade is for the Consecration of Russia to the Immaculate Heart of Mary by the Pope and all Bishops in accord with the requests of Our Lady of Fatima.

This final Crusade, which will begin today and continue until March 25, 2010. Each SSPX Chapel will consecrate itself to the Immaculate Heart today to begin the Crusade. The good Bishop has requested 12 Million Rosaries, an equal number of sacrifices and the living out of the requests of Our Lady of Fatima (making the first Saturdays, and offering sacrifices for the conversion of sinners, etc.). All are invited to join in this Crusade. In March of 2010 all will be ask to send the number of Rosaries said to the SSPX headquarters to be included in the final tally.

If you desire to join this Crusade, you are encouraged to make an initial intention that all of your Rosaries from this day until March 25, 2010 will be for this intention. This will ensure that all of your Rosaries are counted in case you forget to make the specific intention before each individual Rosary.

We hope that all join in this Crusade, which could be titled “The Nuclear Option”, for the victory of the Church against her enemies and the praise and glory of our Blessed Mother who will obtain this grace from her son when her request are met.

Our Lady of Fatima said: “In the end My Immaculate Heart will triumph. The Holy Father will consecrate Russia to Me, and she will be converted, and a period of peace will be granted to the world”.

In 1936, responding to a question by a Priest, Sister Lucy said: "I have spoken to Our Lord about the subject and not too long ago I asked Him why He would not convert Russia without the Holy Father making the consecration. (He replied) ‘Because I want My whole Church to acknowledge that consecration as a triumph of the Immaculate Heart of Mary so that it may extend its cult later on and put the devotion to the Immaculate Heart beside the devotion to My Sacred Heart. Pray very much for the Holy Father. He will do it but it will be late … .“

Indeed the hour is late, and the time has now arrived. Let us join this Crusade, which will bring about the grace necessary for the accomplishment of this request of Heaven.

Here is a link to the letter from Bishop Fellay.

This is so so awesome and exciting!! The conversion of Russia will take place in the future, and it will be like the native Mexicans with Our Lady of Guadalupe. 👍

Is there some sort of pledge sheet we need or what?

Before she died, Sr. Lucia said this had already been done.

And just what do you mean by “conversion of Russia”?

Russia was Christian when vast tracts of Europe were still pagan.

"March 25, 1984 Pope John Paul II, “united with all the pastors of the Church in a particular bond whereby we constitute a body and a college,” consecrates “the whole world, especially the peoples for which by reason of their situation you have particular love and solicitude.” Both the Pope and Sr. Lucia initially seemed uncertain that the consecration has been fulfilled, but shortly thereafter Sr. Lucia tells the papal nuncio to Portugal that the Consecration is fulfilled. "

"August 29, 1989 Sr. Lucia affirms in correspondence that the consecration “has been accomplished” and that “God will keep His word.”

"Rev. Father Robert J. Fox

I come to answer your question, “If the consecration made by Pope John Paul II on March 25, 1984 in union with all the bishops of the world, accomplished the conditions for the consecration of Russia according to the request of Our Lady in Tuy on June 13 of 1929?” Yes, it was accomplished, and since then I have said that it was made.

And I say that no other person responds for me, it is I who receive and open all letters and respond to them.

Coimbra, 3 July 1990

On a practical note, Tim, the consecration that was performed never specified Russia, whereas our Blessed Mother did…Right?

Also, Russia hasn’t been converted (aren’t the Orthodox still in schism?) and is still spreading her error throughout the world (politically/socially). The effects are even coming to America, the formerly undisputed “land of the free”.

On the same practical note, are you willing to ignore Sister Lucia’s repeated statement that the the consecration “has been accomplished?” By virtue of what authority do you do this?

And I don’t think that the effect of Fatima was to have perfect peace in the world. If you read about the state of Europe and what happened after the First World War in Soviet Russia you will see that things were very frightening. The Blessed Mother appeared as a warning of what was to come. Things are very different from now. Consider these occurrences after the consecration:

March 25, 1984 Pope John Paul II, “united with all the pastors of the Church in a particular bond whereby we constitute a body and a college,” consecrates “the whole world, especially the peoples for which by reason of their situation you have particular love and solicitude.” Both the Pope and Sr. Lucia initially seemed uncertain that the consecration has been fulfilled, but shortly thereafter Sr. Lucia tells the papal nuncio to Portugal that the Consecration is fulfilled.

May 13, 1984 One of the largest crowds in Fatima history gathers at the shrine to pray the Rosary for peace.

May 13, 1984 An explosion at the Soviets’ Severomorsk Naval Base destroys two-thirds of all the missiles stockpiled for the Soviets’ Northern Fleet. The blast also destroys workshops needed to maintain the missiles as well as hundreds of scientists and technicians. Western military experts called it the worst naval disaster the Soviet Navy has suffered since WWII.

April 26, 1986 Chernobyl nuclear reactor accident

May 12, 1988 An explosion wrecked the only factory that made the rocket motors for the Soviets’ deadly SS 24 long-range missiles, which carry ten nuclear bombs each.

Tim, I’ve seen most of this before, and I admit that on the surface many of these incidents are convincing, as are the words of Sr. Lucia, but on the other hand I am still uncertain. Here’s why:
On the same practical note, are you willing to ignore Sister Lucia’s repeated statement that the the consecration “has been accomplished?” By virtue of what authority do you do this?
By what virtue? It’s no virtue, Tim, it’s called being a doubter. If I were more virtuous perhaps I would just accept. I am not willing to ignore Sr. Lucia’s statement, but I’m also not willing to ignore a specific request of Our Lady. Why was her request ignored? By virtue of what authority did they do this? Why can I not ignore the statements of one religious sister but the most favored creature (who, unlike us now experiences the beatific vision, and also shares in God’s work as co-redemtrix of man) can be ignored by mere popes?
And I don’t think that the effect of Fatima was to have perfect peace in the world. If you read about the state of Europe and what happened after the First World War in Soviet Russia you will see that things were very frightening. The Blessed Mother appeared as a warning of what was to come. Things are very different from now.
No, not so different. Only now the danger is less apparent on the surface. Do you think we live in a time where there’s more or less peace in the world than in the early 20th century? I believe there’s much less. Yeah, there’s less “official” conflict going on (like world wars), but way more people are dying. Look at just abortion alone! In Russia women have lots of them because they’re free, whereas other forms of ‘birth control’ aren’t. I wouldn’t underestimate Putin either. Plus, where’s the supposed conversion of that country? Where’s the fervor? Do you suppose the Blessed Mother doesn’t mind that there has been no conversion, that the schismatics are still in schism with Holy Mother Church? Just like here there is such lukewarmness, and also such wickedness! The only difference is that Mary asked that Russia be consecrated, not America or the whole world. How many popes tried the “whole world” line? JPII wasn’t the first. Why was his attempt supposedly acceptable when the others weren’t?

On a practical note, Tim, the consecration that was performed** never specified Russia**, whereas our Blessed Mother did…Right?
How is it that you know this? I am curious.

Do you have a copy of the text used, or a link to it?
Also, Russia hasn’t been converted (aren’t the Orthodox still in schism?) …
Is that what this consecration is all about?

Michael

On a practical note, Tim, the consecration that was performed never specified Russia, whereas our Blessed Mother did…Right?
Did our Blessed Lady give a set form of words - a set text - to Sr Lucia that MUST be used in order for the consecration to be validly done?
Also, Russia hasn’t been converted (aren’t the Orthodox still in schism?) and is still spreading her error throughout the world (politically/socially). The effects are even coming to America, the formerly undisputed “land of the free”.
Did Our Lady state that the Orthodox would ever cease to be Orthodox? Did she state that the conversion of Russia (assuming she meant Russia would become Catholic) was going to happen within a set timeframe - within ten, fifty, a hundred or a thousand years of the consecration occuring, for example?

Let us not presume to expect God to work to whatever timetable you’ve planned for Him - Him who took thousands of years after the Fall to send the promised Messiah, and who two thousand years after promising to return still hasn’t come back! And even more let us not presume to take any alleged failure of quick results (although I’d say the fall of Communism is hardly insignificant if one IS looking for results) to mean that the consecration has not occurred.

Might I point out that America has been consecrated to her Immaculate Conception twice in the last fifty years - the consecrations did NOT result in a mass conversion of all Americans to Catholicism.

This is unbelievable. In these days when Catholics vote for pro abortion candidates, attend church picnics that have craps, blackjack tables, and teen aged girls and women showing as much of their tans they can get away with, World Youth Days at which condoms are handed out to minors, on and on, we have Catholics looking for reasons why we don’t need to muster 12 million Rosaries.

Isn’t this a good idea ?
The good Bishop has requested 12 Million Rosaries, an equal number of sacrifices and the living out of the requests of Our Lady of Fatima (making the first Saturdays, and offering sacrifices for the conversion of sinners, etc.).
What Catholic would not benefit from joining this crusade ?

Count me in.

They would indeed benefit - if the rosaries indeed were requested for those things alone. Besides which, I already pray and make sacrifices (not that I want to toot my horn) for such intentions as pro-life, the needs of our church, and the sanctification of our bishops, priests and religious etc - all of which are included in my daily offering.

The specific aim of the Rosary Crusade according to Bishop Fellay is:
This third (and probably final) Rosary Crusade is for the Consecration of Russia to the Immaculate Heart of Mary by the Pope and all Bishops in accord with the requests of Our Lady of Fatima.
Sure, pray and sacrifice for the worthy aims among those that you and I and the Bishop have mentioned above.

But for the fulfilment of a private revelation which is in no way binding on the bishops or the Holy Father, and which apparently has already been fulfilled, according to Sr Lucia and the church? I think there are worthier aims than that particular one.

Sister Lucy always insisted that the Consecration of the World (not Russia) to the Immaculate Heart by John Paul II did not fulfill our Lady’s request. Then, out of nowhere, she supposedly reversed all that she ever said on the subject and claim that it did fulfill this request. Anyone who reads both sides of the argument will conclude that the Consecration of the World (not Russia) did not fulfill what our Lady requested; and if it did, why did not the Consecration of Russia by Pope Pius XII not fulfill it? Pope Pius XII did indeed consecrate Russia to the Immaculate Heart of Mary, but did not do so with the other Bishops as requested. Here’s a few things to consider.

1.) Have things got better or worse in the world since 1984? Would anyone claim that the past 25 years of liturgical chaos, abortion on demand and heterodoxy in the Churches constitutes the glorious “age of Mary” that has been predicted? Would anyone describe the past 25 years a s retoration of the Church beyond human imaginings?

2.) What about Russia? In the 25 years since the Consecration, Russia is a decadent country raging with abortion, divorce, immorality and homosexuality, to the point where Moscow now broadcasts live X-rated programing on Russian television------its version of “Reality TV” of which Russian viewers cannot get enough. Even worse, Russia is now a leading world center for the distribution of child pornography but more of these horrid details later.

Russia also has the highest alcohol consumption in the world. Satanism is on the rise in Russia, the birthrate is plummeting, and homosexuality is rampant in Moscow and throughout the country. In fact, in April 1993, nine years after the “Consecration,” Boris Yeltsin allowed homosexuality to be decriminalized. Homosexuality is now “legal” in Russia.

Worse, Russia is now a leading world center for the distribution of child pornography. The Associated Press reported on August 9,2001, of a Moscow-based child pornography ring linked to another child pornography ring in Texas. To quote AP:

“Russian law does not distinguish between child pornography and pornography involving adults, and treats the production and distribution of either as a minor crime, said Dmitry Chepchugov, head of the Russian Interior Ministry’s department for high technology crimes. Russian police often complain about the legal chaos that has turned Russia into an international center of child pornography production. ‘Unfortunately, Russia has turned into a world trash bin of child pornography,’ Chepchugov told reporters in Moscow.”

If anyone thinks this represents the conversion of Russia I would respectfully disagree. I have more confidence in the Blessed Mother than that. For a glimpse of what the real consecration will accomplish, all one needs to do is read what happened when the Bishops of Portugal consecrated thier country to the Immaculate Heart. That produced a real conversion.

Conclusion: So, not only is it a fact that John Paul II did not consecrate Russia to the Immaculate Heart of Mary; and not only is it a fact that his consecration of the world (not Russia) to the Immaculate Heart not include the other bishops of the world, but not conversion took place - in fact, things only went from bad to worse.

Hopefully those of good will will join in the new Rosary Crusade for the consecration of Russia to the Immaculate Heart by the Pope and all the Bishops of the world - not by the Pope alone, as Piux XII did, and not a consecration that doesn’t mention Russia, as John Paul II did, but a consecration of Russia by name in union with all the Bishops of the world. That is what was requested and that is what will bring about the conversion of Russia and the reign on peace.

Sister Lucy always insisted that the Consecration of the World (not Russia) to the Immaculate Heart by John Paul II did not fulfill our Lady’s request.<<
It’s more fun to believe gloom, doom, and rumors of boom, isn’t it?
Also, Russia hasn’t been converted (aren’t the Orthodox still in schism?) and is still spreading her error throughout the world (politically/socially).<<
Communism was cooked up by a German Jew living in England.

It’s not a “Russian” error.

👍

I don’t attend a SSPX chapel, but I do go to a local Tridentine Mass celebrated under the terms of the Holy Father’s Motu Proprio. A friend told me about this crusade, and I think it’s a wonderful idea. Even if people disagree on whether the Consecration of Russia has been done, we can all agree that these rosaries will hasten the eventual Triumph of Our Lady’s Immaculate Heart.

Right. I can find nothing but positive benefit to this Rosary Crusade.

I too have a local diocesan parish I assist the TLM at.

Welcome to CA TC forum 👍

That the promise of Our Lady at Fatima-“In the end, My Immaculate Heart will triumph”-will happen sooner rather than later.
Again, what exactly will this triumph look like? And how do we know it hasn’t already begun (ie with the fall of Communism, the resurgence of Orthodoxy in Russia and so on)? And how do we know how long it’s supposed to take, or that more prayers will ‘speed it up’ so to speak?

Did Sr Lucy provide any details of exactly what would happen - ie that the ‘conversion’ of Russia would mean that the Russians would become Catholic? And when these things would happen? I find it interesting that no-one has bothered to answer this question. Clearly it must be more pleasant to buy into conspiracy theories.

I don’t understand the hostility in this post.

3 children claimed to have visions of the Blessed Virgin Mary in a small village in Portugal 1917. After years of study, the Church proclaimed the apparitions “worthy of belief”. One of the things Our Lady asked for was the consecration of Russia to Her Immaculate Heart by the Pope in union with all of the bishops of the world. She said that “In the end, My Immaculate Heart will triumph. Russia will be converted, and a period of peace will be given to the world”. Many Church approved theologians, such as Fr. Joaquin Alonzo, believe that the era of Peace promised at Fatima will be the triumph of the Church that the Fathers believed would one day happen before the end of time.

Yes, Sr. Lucy did say that the conversion of Russia would be a full fledged conversion to the Catholic faith. I don’t have the exact quote, but I believe it can be found in William Thomas Walsh’s book OUR LADY OF FATIMA.

Certainly an “era of peace” hasn’t occured yet, in Russia or anywhere else. What is the harm in praying for this to happen? Even if LilyM is correct and these rosaries are for an “unworthy cause”, Our Lord and Our Lady and will take the prayers and use them for another good purpose. No prayer said with a sincere heart is ever despised or wasted by Almighty God.
