Greetings:
No, I have not been staying out of trouble:)
Does anyone have any news about Priest Moves this coming summer?

Only that Deacon Christian who will be ordained the 21st will be leaving the Cathedral and going to St. Stan’s in Bay City. I assume that means father Rau will be leaving St Stan’s for parts as yet unknown.

I did just hear that Fr David Jenuwine is going to St Mary’s in Alma–Good for him!!

Well, My Goodness, How Timely was my Question–Fr Andy Booms is also the Assoc Vocations Director, I see Fr Roa will be assisting in Port Austin and Kinde. Very Cool!!

I’m not too sure what a “parochial vicar” or “parochial administrator” is. Are those similar to the sacramental minister?

And speaking of that, notice that Fr. Bala is retiring and is immediately assigned as a sacramental minister to two parishess?

Deacon Ralph Brisson is retiring, I hope it’s not due to health. I heard a few of his homilies back when he was still in the City and they were always stunning. They really blew you away. He may have lit a spark, but I’m still thinking about that.

At any rate, I’m glad to see that Fr. Bessert is back and apparently has his health issues taken care of. I think they’ll love him at St. Francis Home. He’s always been great with me and my family, and was wonderful when my great aunt passed away, so I hope it works out. They really need someone there (and St. Mary’s Hosptial, IMHO) 24 hours a day, and although that isn’t really possible, I’m glad they have someone, especially since Fr. Grala had to leave so suddenly.

The newer priests are being bounced around quite a bit, but I guess that’s to be expected nowadays.

I’m hearing rumors out of Saginaw, MI that a priest actively serving has passed away unexpectedly today. 😦

This priest was beloved for generations in the area, and was helping to heal a major wound at a local parish (long, long story).

I am not saying who it is until I get confirmation, but this is coming from an excellent source.

I was planning to go to a Mass today for the Ascension, so I will pray for this priest, his family, and the parish he served. Maybe it’s fitting for this priest that he should be welcomed into the Kingdom of Heaven on the Feast of the Ascension.

Fr. Daniel Anzholer, pastor of St. Joseph parish in Saginaw passed away unexpectedly this morning of natural causes.

Tomorrow is their big celebration for the 40th anniversary of La Rondalla, the St. Joseph Parish choir.

I saw several people at Mass today who saw him at last night’s Mass/Rosary and they all commented on how happy and “full of life” he was. How fitting that he died on the Ascension. My mother said to think of it as Jesus taking Fr. Dan with him.

Eternal Rest grant unto him O Lord, and let Perpetual Light shine upon him.

Karl M,

Thanks for keeping us posted on what’s happening in the diocese.

The Cathedral recently was filled with enthusiastic singing, booming responses, and a great air of expectancy, celebration, and joy when Bishop Cistone Performed his first ordinations as a bishop. It was standing room only on a warm Friday afternoon, there was not one dispassionate face to be seen in the congregation. It was a marvelous Mass.

I am a member of St. Agnes Parish of Sanford and my parish priest is Fr. Dan Fox OFM,Cap and the Saturday Mass is now 4:30 all year long and the diocese website have not change that ever since Fr. Jim Hast OFM Cap was my parish priest.

After Untener’s death, a lenten issue of the little book came out including a “blasphemous image of Christ crucified.” – the image of a crucified man with the head of a donkey.

Is it OK to publish “blasphemy” just if you label it blasphemous? could we publish a pornographic picture, just because we labeled it pornographic?

Untener got in one last “shot” at the Church from his grave.

Oh brother…seems like you’re still getting shots in 5 years later.

I think it’s time to change the topic to something more positive.

What churches do you think are the diocese’s most beautiful? And what do you like about them? (exterior styling, interior styling, furnishings, artwork, etc.)
