Your fiance is right.
You really need to think about the fact that you are scared to become pregnant because you are in graduate school. People go to graduate school with children all the time.
So, I guess you have to ask yourself if doing graduate school on some self imposed timeline is more important than marriage and family. If that answer is yes, then your fiance is right and you two aren’t ready to be married.
I am surprised to hear you say this, since it seems like you are always saying that whether to achieve or avoid pregnancy is something the spouses should discern TOGETHER. Her fiance doesn’t have a right to just impose his will on her.School is important, but it is secondary to your vocation. If you view it as primary, then your priorities are not the same as your future spouse’s.
Maybe people go to grad school with children “all the time,” but I definitely could not handle being in grad school while being pregnant or having a baby. It would absolutely be a serious reason to avoid for me.
What makes you think the OP thinks grad school is more important than her vocation?? Maybe she’s going to grad school to help provide for the family.
