We are a catholic couple. We use Nfp and it’s very difficult. We would know from ladies of this forum:
  • How long is your cycle, how days “safe”, how days “not safe”;
  • How often do you have sex at month;
  • What method do you use and since many years.
    Thanks!
(Sorry for my English)

If you’re having a lot of difficulty it might be a good idea to contact an instructor or the developers of the method, or change to a method that offers these. There are also Facebook groups for some methods that can get you in touch with experts and offer some more privacy than completely public forums.

(im actually a women under a mans name)

We are using at as I nearly died in my last pregnancy and had a still birth early labour 😦

29 day cycle
Ovulate on day 15
I use to use ovulation sticks just to see when i’d ovulate each month (the electronic ones)

However a priest told me only use NFP for grave reasons.

He wasn’t telling him to use them. He told his experience at the failure of NFP in his case and what had worked for them. What the OP does with that information is on him.

OB’s and GYN’s are the best source of information. All it is is fertility planning in reverse. There’s no “developers” to contact - it’s medical in nature and is an offshoot of the old so-called rhythm method, with a few added checkpoints/signs because we know more now that we did 35 years ago.

For Creighton and Marquette, there are specific protocols developed at those universities. A local university near me has a specific sympto-thermal method they teach.

I have been charting my fertility for almost eight years. I’ve known every cycle I got pregnant that I was very likely to.

And the priest doesn’t think that repeating the risk of nearly dying isn’t a grave reason?

I despair.

You’re going to get a wide variety of answers.

I can’t have children, but my normal cycle (because we used this to try and get pregnant) is 31 days, with ovulation happening like clockwork on day 15. My reasons for being unable to conceive were and aren’t related to my cycle.

Up to 34 days is generally accepted as normal, with the shortest being 25 to 26. As I said, a GYN would be the best source of assistance. I’m an RN, but not the expert.

And all of that is based on decades-old research. It’s not new. They didn’t invent this method.

What works for someone else may not work for you. You need to track all of your symptoms and use that to determine how many days you need to abstain. Find out what works for you. There are many books that can help you. I would recommend getting an app to keep track of everything.

Ok.

If the OP uses Creighton or Marquette, though, there are experts specifically for those methods who can help, and that is absolutely all that I meant by what I said.

I would like to know your situation…
My calendar now:
1-7 days: Blood, no sex
8-25 Risk of pregnancy, no sex
26-28 (03 30) Sex, once or twice.

Creighton/Billings, we had maybe a week each month that was red light, some yellow but we did not climb the walls with a “ohhhhh how long!!!”

Today, we’d likely throw a tech device in the mix.

Yes - and there are multiple ways to be infinitely more precise than that, thanks to modern technology and modern knowledge - even without home ovulation testing.
