Nike Nixes ‘Betsy Ross Flag’ Sneaker After Colin Kaepernick Intervenes

So ANY expression or use of the American flag is offensive? I wonder how Colin will spend the 4th.
 
The corporate upper stata regularly underestimate just how patriotic the bulk of this country is.

What baffles me is why Mr. Kaepernick continues to live in this unfair, racist, hate filled, Nazi-controlled, immigrant torturing, he!! whole of a country. The dude is rich enough to move to ANY of the perfect countries he wants to, why continue to force himself to stay here in this :poop: country? He can work to make changes in our pit of a country from afar from one of the perfect countries. 🤔 … :roll_eyes:

Is there even an “American Nazi Party”? And if so does it have more than 10 members? I am familiar with Illinois Nazis. Not American Nazis, however.

In all seriousness, it is irrelevant. Just because some fascist-loving twits walk around with a “Betsy Ross” flag doesn’t mean it has anything to do with Nazism. I believe the remnants of the Klan carry American flags during their marches. Doesn’t mean anything. I wasn’t even aware anyone could associate the Betsy Ross flag with anything other than the American Revolution.

More in your neck of the woods, I distinctly recall certain sections of British society claiming that displaying the St. George Cross is racist, and that is the national flag of England. So America isn’t the only land with people who see oppression in everything.
 
I have to say, I do find it interesting that Nike is so happy to pull an American Revolution-inspired shoe on the say so of one American, and was happy to pull another shoe designed by another man because he cheered pro-democracy protests in Hong Kong.

So whatever their motivations (market and money), Nike is supporting a brutal totalitarian communist regime and reneging support for America and democracy. They are officially pro communist and anti-American. I know what company I will go out of my way to not support from now on. Thanks for the heads up, Nike. Now if only I could convince my favorite sports team to drop the brand.

Colin is free to tell Nike about his displeasure.

Nike is free to make sneakers they like and believe will sell well.

They are free to listen to Colin’s displeasure.

No one is forced to purchase Nike sneakers.

No one is prohibited from adding designs to their own sneakers if they want.

I’m sure, if American flag sneakers are desired other shoe makers probably manufacture them.
 
Therefore Americans are free to complain about Nike ridiculous and immature decision also.
 
I know there was a political movement in the 1930’s based in Ridgewood, Queens (a borough of New York City) where quite a few ethnic Germans lived at one time, to ally ourselves with Hitler or at least not go to war with him - could this have been the American Nazi party?

As to the “Betsy Ross” flag, picture a picture of George Washington, in hero mode. Picture him in front of a “Betsy Ross” flag, more hero mode. Picture the demand to remove the picture from all public schools, public venues, and public memory, instanter. The two are a pair, the man and the emblem of the times he …lived in.
 
It’s a bigger deal in the ‘Man in the High Castle’ alternate history.
