No Chicago Olympics!

It’s fine with me Chicago didn’t get the Olympics. Money is tight for everyone and it would have cost the city plenty and i don’t even live there.
It bother’s me that Obama went to Copenhagen to push for the olympics to come to the US. Doesn’t he have enough to do as president without pitching woo to these people? There are matters of state to attend too.Sure the president and his family should have a vacation,that’s fine. But this has nothing to do with the way the world is going right now.
We can’t seem to get a handle on Afgahanistan, Iran is working on nukes, you got people
right here at home that want to blow us up, and he’s after the olympics to come to chicago,Oy Vey.
You didn’t see Queen Elizabeth there pushing for Britian to get the Olympics.
She has her head on straight the old girl.
 
Well it is a terrible shame that the HUGE sacrifice Mrs. Obama made for us was in vain… Too bad!

come to Vancouver and see how deep in a hole we are. and the winter olympics is not as big as the summer games.

taxes are going up and up and up. several crazy proposals have been put forward to tax everyone more just to find the money to pay for the games. Metro Vancouver just opened its first toll bridge a couple of months ago and the toll was meant to pay for the bridge. but now mayors are discussing on putting toll on every bridge so they can pay for the games. is that what you want for Chicago?

We ALREADY pay major tolls on most of our expressways and downtown parking during the weekday will hit you for almost $20 an HOUR! Welcome to our world! :mad:
 
YES!! Chicago wouldn’t even be a good place anyways. There are much better choices in the US. Now if we can just fight off this health care thing.
 
The amount of lack of charity in this thread is startling to me. It is just mean-spirited to gloat at the selection going somewhere other than in the domestic US.

well as long as we are being uncharitable i hate the Chicao Cubs. However since my duaghter just moved to Chicago i guess I will have to like the city now.

Chicago is involved in negative activity and got tripped up in its nefarious ways? That’s a stretch. I think you are giving some of the posters here too much credit.

Obama is involved in increasing our debt and raising taxes as well as cost of living on all of us. The attempt to bring in the Olympics would simply have raised cost again.
This is nefarious activity.

He failed in an embarrassing way in front of the world…or tripped over his own shoelaces.
