A Catholic Bishop should not be ordaining women.

A woman cannot be a priest.
I don’t know why women want to be priests anyway. I’m against it. I just don’t understand it at all. And I get very angry when I see the Church being thought of as degrading women’s roles. All I have to say on that is…Look at Mary! She was chosen as the Mother of God. Isn’t that good enough?😉

Has the Catholic Church changed its teaching on what constitutes desecration?
Yes and no. The Church considers it desecration for anyone other than a duly authorized minister or the recipient to handle Communion. That hasn’t changed. The rules have changed over the years about who can be a duly authorized minister.

AFAIK, recipients weren’t allowed to handle communion for well over many centuries until about the 70’s. Just clarifying.

Just another bunch of feminist pretend Catholics.

I guess we should be flattered really.

But aren’t they then attending different courses from those attended by men seeking to be priests? So how come she managed to fulfil all the course requirements to be even admitted for consecration?
In simple language she wasn’t admitted for consecration. Did she fulfill all the course requirements? Is there any reason why a women shouldn’t be able to attend any and all courses at an open seminary. IF she did attend all these courses it still does not change the fact that Women can not be ordained ministers.

The Sacrament of marriage is procured through the couple. Al the priest does is act as witness. I understand that you do not understand how this works but you should really learn about these things before coming here and throwing out bogus realities.

Cheers:thumbsup:

Not true according to the Eastern Orthodox Church. Orthodox theologians teach that the priest is the proper “minister of the Sacrament”,

If you read history, you will see that before 1054, the Orthodox Church and the Roman Catholic Church were one Church, united in full communion. And in the east, the priest was the proper minister of the Sacrament of Matrimony. Further, this is true in the Melkite Catholic Church today.

OK? but in the Latin Rite which is what we are discussing here the bride and groom are the ones who marry and the Priest is the Witness. 👍

In the Latin rite yes, but in the whole Catholic Church it is not universally true.
