I believe that smiley was directed at me, not you.
I’m confused.

Anyway, let’s get back to this issue. But really it’s pretty transparent- discrimination based on religious faith is morally wrong- the Church teaches this.

ok,forget the SSA comment. However I still take umbrage with Ringil’s most uncharitable and untrue comments re members here indicating discriminatory opinions re blacks. He made that one up!
I haven’t seen any discriminatory opinions on these forums directed at African Americans (well except for one questioning the hygiene practices of Africans), but I’ve seen more than enough such opinions concerning Hispanics.

Show me posts to back up your assertion that. Members here have stated they support discrimination against blacks.
The post you quote above, does not concern Blacks- but concerns your assumption related to what I was saying earlier- so please don’t muddy what I wrote.

You highlight her fear.

One of the central myths of pre-Civil RIghts in the US- especially in the South, was that Black men couldn’t control their lust and desire to rape black women. This caused widespread fear and justified subjugation, segregation, and contributed to the fears of white women.

It is ALWAYS fear that drives discrimination.
No, lynch mobs formed in the South because those largely DemocratIC Party members felt the blacks had disobeyed the law.

Well, this is NOT ABOUT THE PRE-CIVIL RIGHTS area in the South, this is about a woman feeling threatened, but if some posters you assert have some views, it certainly isn’t hard to see in this day and age, lynch mob mentalities exist.

Let’s see, repeating again, that man in Moore Oklahoma argued about Islam was right in laws to stone women. Now, guess what, fact, that woman is dead.

Hey, you know where the bigotry today exists against blacks?? I’ll bet it’s not in low-abortion states like Arkansas, it’s in high-rate abortion states that make it where a black child is five times more likely to be aborted than a white child, that’s states like New York. Hence, where do we hear the knock-out game happens?

Yes, bigotry exists today, often against white people, which this Morgan is, against woman, which this person is, against Southerners, which this person again is.

Are you kidding me,is this how you try to walk back your comment? You need to re read want you wrote,

And there have been posts referring to ā€œfreedomā€ of businesses to admit who they want and who they don’t and allowing the free market to do it’s job.

Her tactics are more akin to the US prior to the era of civil rights with the Blacks Only water fountains and businesses serving Whites Only.

And remember well that a few right here on CAF would defend a business right to refuse to serve Blacks or anyone else they deem undesirable.
This isn’t accusing others here of discrimination against blacks? Could have fooled me.

I would think Catholicism follows what Rome says. But however we can observe naughty white people.

You have concerns about the supposed entity ā€œreverse-racismā€ facing this young lady from Arkansas?

Sure, there wouldn’t be any issue here if she was black or Hispanic.

This lady received death threats.

Oh, let’s just go back and mention the Old South and some sort of theory that fear motivated discrimination.

Apparently she engaged Muslims on debate about the Koran numerous times, apparently the debate became ugly a number of times as well from the Muslim side.

A person receives a death threat, they rightfully should be fearful, now all of a sudden this becomes wrong because this is the fuel for discrimination. Unbelievable.:rolleyes:

Well, this is about a woman feeling threatened…
If someone has a reasonable fear for their safety, they are allowed to do certain things in response. But the key word is ā€œreasonableā€. Not every fear is reasonable, and not every response to a fear is a legal response. If a particular Muslim had threatened the woman, and that same particular Muslim showed up the next day at her shooting range, that would be a reasonable fear. But if some random Muslim came to her place of business, she might** feel** afraid, but that unreasonable fear would not be seen as an excuse for her discriminatory behavior in the eyes of the law.

Unless the threats are anonymous which these threats likely are since she apparently received them via email, pushing this back in the possibility of being reasonable.

Furthermore, part of this story seems to have customers complaining, is this one customer or is it a number of customers??

Oh, It’s unbelievable all right!!😃

I would differ only to point out that fear ALWAYS fosters discrimination.

So, someone phones in a bomb-threat, a busline in Florida apparently got a threat via two cyclists this morning, persons on bicycles. But hey, we can’t fear anything, that’s discrimination so let everyone onto the bus.

wesh.com/news/bus-service-suspended-in-lake-county-over-bomb-threat/28369828

No, bus service suspended because of the threat. We better call them and tell them, fear of something to their bus constitutes discrimination from the pre-Civil Rights era in the South.

Fear ALWAYS fosters discrimination! šŸ‘
