So you must believe the rich aren’t already rich enough and need even more money for charity and you must think charity alone can pay for the medical costs in the 21st century of everyone in need.
Ah, yes, the old attack on the “rich”. Most rich people are now Democrats and post-modern liberals, so perhaps the left should chide :tsktsk: their own ranks. I think even 6 or 7 of the 8 richest people supported Hillary Rodham Clinton for President over Mr. Trump.

Charitable giving goes up as tax rates go down. Government is a terrible form of charity.

This myth that “charity can’t do it alone” is just intellectual laziness and an American liberal talking point. Charity often can’t operate well because of big government.

I agree with an exception. Democrats usually have someone test the waters with a statement like Dean made, then follow up with it being part of the platform.

I believe that there will be some Catholic democrats this will drive away.
Well, that’s what they did with so-called gay “marriage”. Remember, gay “rights” activists were holding out on Obama with their donations (which would be racist by their standards) and they sent out Joe Biden (cause if it didn’t work they could just laugh it off as another gaffe) and Robyn Roberts (African American female, the group most opposed) to beta-test the issue with Obama using careful language for the low-information crowd (“evolved on the issue”).

It’s not a myth. It’s simple math and reality in the 21st century. Costs of healthcare and medical advances and the population is not what it was in Biblical times when people on here try to argue Jesus would have been against a govt role.

Exactly!👍

You are an independent, but why are you not too worried?

Do you think nominating judges has anything to do with abortion?
Do you think that there would be more or less abortions if there were more restrictions?
Why do you think almost every democrat senate or congressman has a 100% naral rating?
Since 1992, abortion rates have been dropping. It doesn’t seem to make much difference who’s President or who are current justices.

It’s interesting our policitizing gives justification of superiority of one party over another. There is a large group of independents out there.

First of all, organizations that label themselves “Pro-Life” hijacked the name. They are anything but “Pro-Life.” Pro-Life means cradle to grave protection for the life of a person. Protections from abortion to euthanasia including the right to food, clothing, housing, healthcare etc. for those that need it to sustan life

Pro-Life organizations are really “Right to be Born” or “anti-abortion” but not “Pro-Life.” The GOP hijacked the movement in order to obtain a voting block but then consistently voted against healthcare, housing, clothing, food, daycare, job training etc that would sustained life for both the mother and her baby. 24% of Catholics obtained abortions. So why should Catholic organizations throw stones at secular society when members of their own Chuch do not follow Church’s teaching? I believe Jesus mentioned in several of His teachings about judging others.

I’m still waiting for the anti-abortion group plan for sustaining the life of the child after they are born if the mother is unable or incapable of providing care for the child especially if the child has serious health, addiction or birth defect issues

Pro-life was redefined as you say above to ease the conscience of those married to the democratic party.

.
Hmmm. Seems like charitable contribution deduction is worth more the higher your marginal rate is.

Up to a point anyway.

And, this delusion that pro-abortion Hillary Clinton didn’t need pro-lifers and Middle America was the foundation of her tone-deaf campaign.
👍

You mean 24% of Americans calling themselves Catholic. That’s completely different from practising Catholics. In sociologist Bradley Wright’s Christians are Hate-Filled Hypocrites…And Other Lies you’ve Been Told, among Catholics who attend mass weekly it’s only around 12.5%. (cf Protestants attending worship weekly at 16.7%). That statistic doesn’t consider if the abortion took place before converting or finding faith again or how seriously they’re committed to their Faith. There are many lukewarm Christians who do attend Mass or services. That’s not to say no faithful Christians will seek an abortion but it would likely be very low.
I’m sure you’ve taken the Jesus-on-judging verse is taken out of context.

I think every Catholic has seen this for awhile. There are still many Catholics that consider others issues more important than pro-life and continue to vote Democrat.

Which is why some Democrats are seeking to abolish the electoral college. Red states are getting redder and many Blue States are getting redder too. Only California, New York and Washington are getting bluer but that’s because of mass immigration. It’s a calculus game. If you can get enough naturalized immigrants to vote in those states and scare them that they’ll be deported if you don’t vote for the Democrats faster than population growth in Red and Reddening states, they will win the presidency every time. Of course, that won’t help them with the Senate. The HoR is harder to predict.

I really am surprised at those Catholics still trying to defend their party. The pro death party is saying loud and clear that if you are pro life, we don’t want you. That party is saying believe everything that we do or leave. I simply can’t believe it has that type of power over people, but sure seems to be the case.

The LifeNews news story makes no mention of the “pro-life” issue that is affordable and accessible delivery, nor does it make any mention of the “pro-life” issue that is maternity leave. I’m more alarmed at anti-abortion legislation that wholly neglects the concerns (medical and economic) of the unborn babies mommies. It’s not “pro-life” to keep childbirth so expensive: that’s what alarms me.
