No room for Pro Life Democrats

I really am surprised at those Catholics still trying to defend their party. The pro death party is saying loud and clear that if you are pro life, we don’t want you. That party is saying believe everything that we do or leave. I simply can’t believe it has that type of power over people, but sure seems to be the case.
You do realize that more comprehensive sex ed (teaching both abstinence and factual information of how contraceptives can prevent killing babies) can eliminate the whole “party of death” canard, right?

No I don’t, how?

Despite ‘comprehensive’ sex ed, the general trend for these US states is lower teen pregnancy rates but a high abortion rate and states with abstinence-only higher teen pregnancy rates but lower abortion rates. When dealing with adults and abortions, the issue of sex ed when they were in school becomes pointless to a degree. A factor in this is mindsets and how people view things, which is often overlooked because it becomes extremely complex. Even many non-religious teens in Red culture states don’t see abortion as a way out of a pregnancy. I’m generalizing based on some of the sociological evidence out there but their thinking is, ‘I made an unwise decision but I will take responsibility for it,’ which is a nearly 180 degree turn around from Blue culture states.

I think every Catholic has seen this for awhile. There are still many Catholics that consider others issues more important than pro-life and continue to vote Democrat.
Without the right to be born, all other rights are MOOT.

The first unalienable right is LIFE

Which naturally begs the question: Why doesn’t the state do more to help the increasing costs of prenatal care and delivery and requisite maternity leave? “The right to be born” underlies the difference between “pro-life” and anti-abortion.

This is a completely separate question and very debatable.

Does this statement alarm any Catholic democrats?
Not me. First, Dean is entitled to his opinion, but does not speak for the party.
Second, it is not entirely clear what Dean means. The question could be turned around the other way, What compromises are acceptable to the pro-life movement? What compromises in rhetoric, and in reality?

That would be a very good question to ask the most innocent to see what they think.

This seems pretty clear what he means…
there is no room for pro-lifers in the Democratic Party

The point is well taken, but misses my point. If there is no compromising, then the Wyoming law is nothing. And support of the Republicans? DO you think that they are pro-life without compromise? There is not evidence ot support that idea.

I agree that many if not most republicans compromise. But almost all democrats want nothing less than abortion on demand and as Dean says, there is no room for you if you don’t agree.

Lol. That is the headline at the site. And of the thread. But the link does not indicate that that is what he said. Did he asy that, or did you just fall for FAKE NEWS?

I am glad that you agree on Republicans. But:
Show me where Dean says that?
Show me why I shoudl think that Dean speaks for Democrats?
