Your thoughts on the Papal election and conclave.
If a new Pope is elected today, I’ll ask the mod to change the title.

I pray that the Holy Spirit will guide the cardinal electors to choose one who will be a faithful voice for Christianity – not only for Catholics but for all who confess Christ as Lord.

Beautifully said.

What a generously kind prayer for all of us! God bless you.

AMEN!

I have been peeking at the news at work in hope of news.

This former Catholic is watching the news with great interest and praying for 2 cardinals.

How gracious of you; thank you Pastor.
Mary.

You are praying for just two cardinals, not the others? What am I missing here?
Well, I pray for all of them, but there is a thread called Looking for 118 Companions on the Spirituality forum in which we were asked to choose a Cardinal. I chose two to pray for. We have them all covered.

Makes sense. I didn’t know about that thread.

Was listening to EWTN’s coverage about this. Dont know if it’s the same website, but the website of adoptacardinal.com (or something like that) has had over 500,000 people adopting cardinals to pray for…

And the priest who was discussing it said that a cardinal told him that the cardinals are very grateful for this. They have been touched by the idea that there are members of the faithful who are praying specifically for each of them

That’s wonderful–The Body of Christ at work.

If the Holy Spirit is guiding each Cardinal why does it take more than one vote?

My main response is: “They knew ahead of time… why didn’t they do this earlier so the time between popes would have been limited?”

Shrug.
