I would be very confused by thinking catolics were Satanists. I have never heard such even in bad joke.

Here however I have learned that Orthodox people who are Slavs are often butchers and terrorists. This is shocking but there is much confusion because of ignorance - people who do not know a real Serb, Bulgarian, Russian or Ukrainian believer - can accept foolishness because the truth is not seen by them. Also people who do not know Catolics may have all kind unusual ideas about them.

These fantastic views are always surprising, often hurtful - but can be basis for a very interesting discussion - as you have shown on this thread.

One Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church = Catholics = founded by Christ

The Catholic Church is where all Christianity is derived from.
There is not one Protestant based church.
catholic means “universal” - the whole Christian body.

But Catholics seem to think is means exclusive.(ie shutting out all others from a part or share)

Salvation is not dependent on membership in the RC. It is dependent on membership in the family of God.

Luk 9:49 And John answered and said, Master, we saw one casting out devils in thy name; and we forbad him, because he followeth not with us. 50 And Jesus said unto him, Forbid [him] not: for he that is not against us is for us.

Let’s see where in the bible the New testament does it say " as the quote you gave me was " It is dependent on membership in the family of God".

Look I do not judge but tried to lead all to the full truth and to be in full communion with Jesus Christ and the Church he built.

If you read the bible and concentrate on the words of the whole chapters and not just bits and pieces you will learn the full truth.

Jesus begamn his church with twelve Apostles and most went astray at one point. Peter, thomas, john, etc… but because of some failings or mis givings (the Apostles being men not God Jesus understood, forgave, and re-instructed. Peter do you love me 3 times, Thomas blessed are those that have not seen but still believe, etc…

The reason for the straying of the Protestant Churches from the original, true, and in full communion with Christ is for own personal gain of the flesh or to fail to understand the mis-givings of men appointed by the Church (Jesus) being the head.

The Church body is made up of men and women much like that of the Apostles and Jesus did not abandon them even when one (Judas) betrayed him with a kiss.

The Protestant churches have abanoned being in full communion with Christ unlike that of Christ with the Apostles and his Church. Peter was given the charge of being the apostolic see – Peter you are the rock that I will build my Church. Why even the name Jesus gave to (Peter means rock).

I do believe that protestants are followers of Christ and can gain salvation but without having the fullness of the Church in the Sacraments and esspecially Holy Communion (The Eucharist) it makes it a total up hill climb.

Remember the King James Version also removed several chapters from the bible and the sacraments given to us by Christ.

I totally agree this is the time when all of us Christians need to unite and stand strong together. This is the only way we will beat satan, he hates unity.
Heck yea he does, Protestants, I dont equate you with the devil, but return to the Catholic Church!

It depends on which KJV one has. I have a Cambridge KJV with all the books and a reprint of the original 1611 KJV which also has all the books.

lak611

tell me how many books would that be? Agian you said 1611 years after the birth of Christ.

If it is all the books written, without chapters removed, and sanctified by the early church (Catholic Church) then how could you excuse if Anglican the teachings.

Divorce, Confession, Peter, etc…

The reasoning for removing the books was to give the anglican churches creedence as with the complete bible there could be none.

The original KJV contained all of the Deuterocanonicals in the Apocrypha section. It also contained these books which are recognized by the Orthodox, but not by the Catholic Church: 1 & 2 Esdras and the Prayer of Manasses. None of the chapters were removed from the Bible. The parts of Daniel and Esther that were in the Greek, but not in the Hebrew texts were still in the KJV, only in the Apocrypha section, not in the books of Daniel and Esther respectively. The reason the Apocrypha was removed from later KJV’s was due to omission by the British Bible societies, not by the Anglican church. The Anglican church still uses these books in their services, and readings from these books are still included in the Book of Common Prayer.

👍
It were the separatist Calvinism influenced Bible Societies the one who removed those books from the KJV Bible.
A trick I often tell fundies when they speak about their “perfect KJV”. Sorry, yours is mutilated.
Many have no idea about that.

I am looking at several KJV currently used by most, if not all of the protestant churches and I see 64. Are my eyes deceiving me?

Acts 2:38 and Acts 22:16. The first says, “And Peter said to them, ‘Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.’”

The second one says, “And now why do you wait? Rise and be baptized, and wash away your sins, calling on his name.”

These verses agree with the words of Jesus, Titus 3:5, and the rest of the New Testament about the necessity and importance of baptism.

So I guess it is a matter of reading and the above translation of the bible/ scripture states one is saved by baptism not just faith alone.

There is no sybolism here

I was listening again to a talk by John MacArthur (who I understand is fairly well-respected in Protestant circles). In the 7:00 minute mark of his sermon in this file, he states the following:*In the long war on the truth, the most formidable, relentless, and deceptive enemy has been Roman Catholicism. It is an apostate, corrupt, heretical, false Christianity. It is a front for the kingdom of Satan.*Protestants, non-Catholics, does this sort of comment bother you? In what way??
Not like the crusades and the bartholomean night. Man what is little freedom sentence compared to the entire military campaign led by “christ’s representative on earth”.

used to. not anymore. since my eyes were opened to the CC i no longer care what anyone says about the CC. the Pharisees once saw Jesus speaking and made a comment that Jesus was with demons. Jesus answered: any sin against God would be forgiven but sin against the Holy Spirit would not. this is pretty scary to me. correct me if i am wrong. also Jesus said: rejoice when you are prosecuted for my name sake for your reward is great in Heaven.
if you do not know the Son, ask the Father or the Mother, they will show you. for Jesus said to Peter flesh and blood did not reveal this to you but my Father in Heaven.

It does. It is hateful and untrue. We may have disagreements, but I don’t think Catholics are equated to Satan. We are all on the side of Christ.

I did not know about Bartholomean Night. I did some research. The information that you have here is misleading. It had absolutely nothing to do with the Pope and only a little to do with religion. Please read this link.

This one has some information

As horrible as it was, it was becaused a Hugonot married a Catholic. No pope involved.

And please do not get me started about the crusades. There is enough blame on both sides. It was not the mean old Catholic Church attacking the innocent little Muslims.

Never mind that the Muslims started by destroying the Christian Middle East by military conquest.
And now the evangelicals in the US are ending what the Muslims started. Ending Christianity in the Middle East. Oh, I forgot that for most US evangelicals, Orthodox, Eastern Catholics and Coptics are not True Christians.

Well, Franky Schaeffer is a bit incendiary but the silence of evangelicals over the destruction of the Christian (o what, that should be Catholic, Coptic and Orthodox who are not real christians in their eyes) is deafening and speak volumens.
And of course the war in Irak was made on lies and the Pope and the Russians opposed that war based on common sense.
But lest not speak about the war, lest speak about the silence of the evangelicals. Why they do not include in their sites about christian persecution, anything about the persecution of traditional non evangelical christians in the middle east?
That the point Franky Schaeffer is trying to make.

Yes, I’m a Protestant and it bothers me so much that I usually answer, but I’m French and among French Protestants the idea that the Pope is the Antichrist and the Catholic Church is Satanic is extremely rare ( but some Jehovah’s Witnesses are likely to say that, rather than Protestants although there are some who say that … )
Of course we don’t agree with all the doctrines of the Catholic Church ( if we did we would be Catholics 😛 ) but it doesn’t mean we consider it as “Satanic” …

hi all!
it amazes me. this guy is so ignorant. all his quotes come from martin luther, calvin, knox. he is been so deceived and arrogant. i wish to see him face to face. i want him to come to try to evangelize me into his protestant church so i could evangelize him
into the CC.

Matthew 7:13- “Enter ye in at the narrow gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way that leadeth to destruction, and many there are who go in thereat. How narrow is the gate, and strait is the way that leadeth to life, and few there are that find it ”
  1. Luke 13:24- “Strive to enter by the narrow gate; for many, I say to you, shall seek to enter, and shall not be able.”

I have not been following this strand, but here’s my thoughts…

It does not bother me. In fact, this boldness with the Truth encourages me for its Christ-likeness. Our Lord often used similar, if not “harsher,” rhetoric when He confronted false religion, particluarly in a long sermon. Matthew 23:13-33. Jesus’ concluding comments: Serpents, brood of vipers! how can you escape the condemnation of hell?

“A front for the kingdom of Satan” is almost euphamism compared to Christ’s terminology.
