They are not men. A transwoman is a woman. Same with a transman is a man. Sometimes I think the best solution is for all people born with a penis to have it removed by the age of five so none of this testosterone will ever become an issue.
Actually, they are men . You can’t change biology or history no matter how many surgeries you have. Castrating a man doesn’t make a woman, it makes a castrated man.

This nongender bathroom push just brings us all more division, more hate. Also of course we can’t change it short of violent incidents, and possibly not even then. (assuming we don’t live in NC 😉 of course!) Nobody cares about the discomfort, vulnerability, right, that so many now feel. Why is that I wonder. The real reason, not the official line. Lack of empathy with others; something disturbed about this kind of thinking, frankly.

Apparently the only feelings that matter are from those who are trying to push their way into women’s restrooms.
If women are molested or peeped at because of this there will be lawsuits. I wouldn’t be surprised if restaurants and movie theaters and other places would have to hire guards to protect their patrons as well as themselves from possible lawsuits. And guess who will pay for these guards? The cost will be passed along to the customers in one way or another.

It is so funny - if it were men’s bathrooms on offer, can you imagine? They would not put up with it for a minute. There are already safety issues connected with this - fear of assault by men is why women’s locker-rooms and bathrooms are preferred by transgender individuals of both sexes.

My problem is that these laws extend so far beyond this issue of transgenderism - it now affects everyone negatively, in a serious way, namely of course women and children.

In crowded venues women have to wait in longer lines to use the restroom than men do. Women all know this. So now because of the LGT-etc., we not only have to wait in longer lines but have to share our space with men?!
Seriously, I don’t want men in the women’s restrooms and am sure most women would be uncomfortable with this situation.
I think this post should be framed.

Right on under-reporting. People are afraid to say anything if they feel uncomfortable or are in an intimidating situation. Especially women, which is why these laws go as far as they do. After my incident I asked several women how they felt - one thought I was in the wrong, two were for me - one of those with me gave me a thumbs up, but of course neither one of them said a word to the management…(the gym manager is even kind of on board; he said he actually knew that a lot of women felt like I do)
Yeah, it’s increasingly clear that it’s women aren’t comfortable with this because they know men will just use it as an excuse to watch them or whatever. The activists have to downplay this and have the transphobic card at the ready.

No they are women. I know I won’t convince you so I will let it be.

As long as there’s a door offering me privacy, I don’t care if a monkey comes in.

Kate they are hormonally-altered men. Their DNA is male DNA. One cannot change his or her DNA. A male is a male forever no matter how much, or what kind, of surgery he has.

What objectively-measurable, readily-apparent criteria overrides every primary and secondary characteristic showing an individual is male, up to and including fathering children?

Really? Would you be comfortable with having a young daughter use the same restroom with a man in the stall next to her? Would you allow her to go to the bathroom by herself?

The only other way I can imagine restaurants and other public places could get around this would be to have a row of port-o-potties lined up outside. Each person (by this I mean each woman) would have their own place to go without having some guy in the stall next to them. Only think of how wonderful this arrangement would be! It’s bad enough to have to use these things at festivals and other outdoor places, much less having to go from a fancy restaurant in heels and a dress to use the public outhouse!

There are a lot of things in this world that cannot be put into nice, neat categories and we should stop pretending that they can. I’m sure that this disturbs a lot of people who want everything to be black or white and to stay inside nice clear lines so that we don’t feel uncomfortable, but not everything is easily understandable or explainable.

Sin rarely is.

I believe that women have a capacity for understanding and compassion which man structurally does not have, does not have it because he cannot have it. He’s just incapable of it. Barbara Jordan, former Congresswoman
Probably the only place where a man can feel really secure is in a maximum security prison, except for the imminent threat of release. Germaine Greer
Man-hating is everywhere, but everywhere it is twisted and transformed, disguised, tranquilized, and qualified. It coexists, never peacefully, with the love, desire, respect, and need women also feel for men. Always man-hating is shadowed by its milder, more diplomatic and doubtful twin, ambivalence. Ninety-five percent of women’s experiences are about being a victim. Or about being an underdog, or having to survive… women didn’t go to Vietnam and blow things up. They are not Rambo. Jodie Foster, quoted in The New York Times Magazine
Since marriage constitutes slavery for women, it is clear that the women’s movement must concentrate on attacking this institution. Freedom for women cannot be won without the abolition of marriage. Sheila Cronin, the leader of the feminist organization NOW

Question of the day - are the all too apparent flaws of the biological male present in the transgender male? Is a transgender male equally dominating and oppressive? A natural threat to women?

(and when a man becomes a woman, does he start to think like above? 😉 ) God help us all. 😃

True.

Mutilating yourself does not transform you into the opposite sex.

True but it does leave you very damaged and vulnerable mentally and emotionally, unstable. I don’t think we can have enough compassion in our social attitudes toward these individuals. I also don’t think normalizing the trauma of sexual identity crisis is the answer for our culture though. Public health becomes public sickness.

**Porn Site Bans North Carolina Users Due To State’s Anti-LGBT Laws
“I think that porn has the power to do what Bruce Springsteen can’t.”

There’s a new kink in North Carolina’s LGBT controversy: A popular porn website is banning all computers from “The Tar Heel State.”
XHamster.com has been refusing to serve anyone from North Carolina since 12:30 p.m. EDT, Monday.
Instead, users with a North Carolina IP address are just seeing a black screen on their computer — no porn.
The extreme measures will stay in place until North Carolina repeals House Bill 2, a law passed on March 23 that effectively prevents cities and counties in the state from passing rules that protect LGBT rights.
XHamster.com spokesman, Mike Kulich, said the website believes in equality for everyone.
“We have spent the last 50 years fighting for equality for everyone and these laws are discriminatory which XHamster.com does not tolerate,” he said in an official statement sent to The Huffington Post. “Judging by the stats of what you North Carolinians watch, we feel this punishment is a severe one. We will not standby and pump revenue into a system that promotes this type of garbage. We respect all sexualities and embrace them.”
Kulich told HuffPost that the company’s statistics show that North Carolinians are more open-minded — at least about their porn — than laws like HB2 might suggest.
“Back in March, we had 400,000 hits for the term ‘Transsexual’ from North Carolina alone,” he said. “People from that state searched ‘Gay’ 319,907 times,” he added.
Kulich said the website plans to replace the black screen currently seen by North Carolina porn buffs with a petition demanding the repeal of the law.

I know two Trans-men and I would not consider either one of them to be “mentally and emotionally, unstable.” Generalizations about a whole group of people are usually not accurate for everyone in that group.
