The arcades were popular here too when I was in high school. I think Ms. Pac Man came out right after we graduated. My girlfriend at the time liked the arcade more than I did. She liked the social aspect and flirting. I thought it was very loud and crowded 😠.
 
My friends and I also played board games like Clue and Monopoly and we also played card games. Monopoly seemed to be everyone’s favorite board game, as it had a lot of game pieces to go around, too. 😀

I used to know how to play so many different fun card games, but I’ve forgotten many of them, since I haven’t played them in a long time now.
 
More recently I played Battlefield 2142 way way way too much about 10 years ago. Some of these games are so addictive now. At least for some of us.

I thought about getting one of the more recent Battlefield games but I’m not sure it’s a good idea. As adults we are more responsible before God for wasting time. Some of us gamers are not real good with moderation.

I can attest to, both as an adult and a child, of having logged many hours catching Pokémon.
 
I don’t think I’ve ever finished a game of monopoly. It seems someone always has a tantrum before we can.

Yes, I played one of the early Zork games. And some similar ones. They are good thinking games. I would have been happy to have “won” or completed the adventure but I never stuck with it enough.
 
You took my answer. 😉 Pong on a black and white portable TV in order to not ruin the color tv.

After that, I think Asteroids.
 
Yes, or you get bored. How many time can landing on Boardwalk be fun?
 
The only way to finish is to trade, in my experience.

As a child, my brother and I would play. But the houses and hotels and mortgaging was all too confusing. And we never would trade. So the game board would be out for weeks with us continuing to go back to the game day after day until eventually we’d get bored and put it away. It’s tough to bankrupt someone when the most they are paying is $100 of the person happened to kick out and get both Boardwalk and Park Place
 
Yeah, I can see that happening, especially if they tend to take game-playing rather seriously.

I don’t tend to do that…

I like to play for fun, and to have a good time. 🙂
 
When I would play with a group, there would always be people “arguing” over who wanted to be the Banker! LOL!!

That always seemed to be such a big deal to someone else.

Me, I was like, “You can have it! I don’t want to keep track of the money, or count it! It’s one less thing for me to do!” LOL!! 😄
 
I remember an educational video game I bought for my son to play on our first computer, a Tandy 1000. It was called Operation Neptune, and it was supposed to help with math skills as you maneuvered a submarine around. I can still hear the music from that game, since I heard those tunes so often…
 
We had a tandy sl2! Loved that computer and especially sierra games, Codename: iceman, the King’s quest and quest for fire games, truly fun!
 
Personally, I’d avoid the newer Battlefield games. The series isn’t what it used to be. Now it’s just a glorified version of Call of Duty with vehicles on some maps. I stopped at BF3.

The last authentic Battlefield game in my opinion was Battlefield Heroes. It felt like the older games, having large maps and some teamwork.

I miss the mod Forgotten Hope 2 for BF2. I loved that mod when I was a kid.
 
My favorite was Dragonrealms. Granted it was a text based game mmorpg but was still a ton of fun. I was one of the most hated people in the game cause I would walk (term used for making a players character permanently die in the game) people. Would even do it to people 20 levels higher than me (my evasion and crossbow skill was crazy high, I would spend days at a time hunting cross and gargoyles which raises your Xbow and evasion skill super fast). Ah those were the days…

The Legend of Zelda - my grandmother used to play it and it was great fun.

Super Mario Bros. 2, Battletoads, The Adventures if Bayou Billy, Legacy of the Wizard, Wizards and Warriors, Solomon’s Key, The Adventures of Lolo series, Castlevania, Solar Jetman.

The Simpsons arcade, The West Coast Avengers arcade, TMNT arcade, Street Fighter 2 arcade

Altered Beast, Toejam and Earl, Earthbound, Link to the Past, Starfleet Academy

Most of the Sierra Online library. My grandmother had a sweet 486 with a CD ROM.

Warcraft 3, Diablo 2, Soul Calibur 2, World of Warcraft and the first two expansions.
