God does not have a sex. The Incarnate Son is the only person in the Trinity who has gender and sex, because he has human nature.
The use of the masculine pronouns is proper grammar in most languages when speaking about a person who is not female or about a group in a mixed group.
Since God is not matter, he is not he or she. But proper grammar has to assign him a pronoun to facilitate speaking. The classical way of doing it is to use the masculine.
From the theological perspective,
Jesus refers to the first person of the Trinity as He and Father. It make sense that we use the same terms to keep the consistency.
The Church has never decreed that God is masculine or feminine, but that man (male and female) is created in God’s image and likeness. Therefore, we can safely assume that God has feminine and masculine qualities. That is revealed to us through creation.
I fail to see why people need to reinvent the wheel, as if they could come up with a new and improved version of ROUND.
