Understandable. Notre Dame is a priceless piece of world history even absent its spiritual significance. It’s easily one of if not the definitive examples of a style of building that encompasses 400 years or more of western history. It’s influence on building architecture (particularly churches), which continues to this day, is immeasurable.
I mean one of the most beautiful churches I’ve visited personally (Grace Cathedral in San Francisco) is a direct homage to Notre Dame. And with good reason.
