You live in the Los Angeles diocese and you see nothing wrong?
Maybe persoanal experience plays a large part on how we view the church. I have been to Mass in 20-30 different churches and I have never seen clowns, doritos or any large deviation from the GIRM. The worst thing I have seen is the wrong creed used at a youth mass.

So far, it seems there are more solid, faithful priest out there than experimental liturgist. But then , I don’t live in LA.

You can’t fool us…that’s a baBtist church!
We know because the cross is empty. Just the way baBtist churches are.

Exporter,

The novus ordo Mass is the Mass we have in our regular parishes today. The Missal was translated and universally put in place in 1973. Some places may have had it earlier, but the GIRM (General Instruction Roman Missal) of 1973 was in place until recently. We currently have a New GIRM and it took a while before it was translated into english. The text of the Mass is still being translated and many of the prayers will change dramitacally back to a more faithful translation of the Latin. (someone will correct me if I did get that exactly right)

The Mass we have at our parishes today is usually said in the language of the society it is serving. Latin responses can be included. If you go to the Vatican be ready for that. If you watch Mass on EWTN you will hear and see how Latin is used.

The 1962 Missal is known as the Indult. This is the Mass you went to as a young child with your parents. Where the entire Mass was in Latin. The priest had his back to you…etc. It is also known as the Traditional Roman Missal, Missal of Pius V and several other names.

Those people who wrongly attack the Current Roman Ordo (Novus Ordo) like to make up stories about all kinds of wacky Masses that have supposively take over. Most of us who have been around a while can get a kick out of these gyrations, because as a long time Catholic, the first time you will hear of these Masses is at a place like here. They are neither common nor licit. The most popular is the clown Mass. Sure these things happen, but they are made out to be common place and that evey parish is doing wacky stuff. The Catholic Church is huge, we will have our share of Crack pots and as in the picture below was taken care of by Rome.

Also, you will almost never find a happy traditionalist (at least not in my experience). They are always angry and complain about the “betrayal” of the Church… the true joy and peace that comes with Christ is nowhere to be found in the traditionalists I know. 😦

Pray for them.

One very happy, joyful, peaceful, non-schismatic, non-sedevacantist, traditionalist Catholic.

While they have some valid concerns…

Understatement of the year.

Your sweeping generalizations are most innacurate and do not describe the majority of Catholic Traditionalists.

I am adding my name to your list!
I’m happy now since I am at a true church!

**That is not how pagan priestesses pose. I have it right here in my copy of the GIRP (General Instructions of Ritual Paganism). **

Once again, dear friend, you don’t know what you are talking about.

:whacky:

Crusader, isn’t it time you started playing with a full 52?

Here’s one from Orlando. Like I said to others on this forum, I challenge anyone to come here. You will suffer like I have. Notice the progressive tv monitors in the background. Yet all this goes on and there is no dominant Latin Mass in the diocese. I whole heartidly agreed with Father Collins when he basically said that some feel like they have been robbed of the Apostolic faith. 😦

Yeah but at least we don’t need clowns to force us to love the liturgy.

Are you sure that this is correctly captioned? Here’s a link to the Diocese of Lincoln with an exterior picture of Sacred Heart Catholic Parish. It hardly looks to be the same building exteriorly and hardly looks modern either. My guess is that it’s not the same. lincolndiocese.org/yellow/Parishes_sacred_heart.htm

I think the whole problem with the novus ordo “mass” started when 6 protestant ministers were asked to write it. Drs. Jasper, George, Shepherd, Kunneth, Smith, and Thurian. From the very beginning it had absolutely NO WORTH! …there is no valid consecration…it was made to be invalid on purpose.

Then we have this “saintly?” Pope kissing a Koran?:tsktsk:

**What's wrong with this picture??**
St Athanasius took the Church out into the desert to save it from Pope Liberius and the Arians. Yes, the Church shall not be prevailed against even if it has to go out into the desert.
Code:
Better to serve for the True Tridentine Mass in the desert than to use the **protestant written** novus ordo "mess" in an air conditioned room.
