Greetings ElToro,My signature is not in response to your other thread. No matter how you try to package an argument, the use of “novus ordo” (particularly on these forums) is typically as an invective. I have actually seen postings where some use “EF” and “NO.” Would it have been too difficult to type “EF” and “OF”? Obviously not, but like many they wanted to take a little shot at the OF. I find that to be disgusting.
I am puzzled as to why you have waited until post #66 to address the your signature. I believe we will have to agree to disagree. I do not mean Novus Ordo Missae to be used as an invective and after talking to several of my professors about this thread, they said that it was up to me as to what I would refer to the Mass of Paul VI as. Some of them refer to the Mass of Paul VI as Novus Ordo Missae as well, and they do not mean any disrespect or to use an “invective.”
I believe it is not in the terms themselves but in the manner one uses the term in as another poster had pointed out. As you have seen in my posts, never once have I criticized the Novus Ordo Missae and by the grace of God I will never do so.
God bless.
