Excellent point. Well said.I certainly hope that the Bishop’s don’t only consult people that agree with them. If everyone agreed with them, there would be no need for consultation, right?

I might have missed; have you shared your opinions with anyone at the USCCB?When is this going to end? How much worse does have to get before this garbage gets cleaned up??
It is really making me sick to my stomach to continue to hear these stories - they are becoming more and more prevalent, and it is ever more glaringly obvious that something has got to be done.
It is beyond scandalous, it is embarrassing and makes a mockery of everything the Church teaches on homosexuality.

And, according to the CNA article, she stopped being a committee member in 2006. This thread, and the original video, is simply beating a dead horse.Yes, this is the important fact. She’s not an employee. She’s a committe member. Did the rest of the posters not get this?.
Single and widowed people also are expected to be chaste and celibate. God nevers gives anyone more than he/she can bear. One has to be willing, and ask the Lord for help.Being a lesbian has nothing to do with her health expertise.
I thought Catholics were trying to be tolerant, saying only the relationship is the problem, not the fact she is gay? But that is not how these responses paint it.
Sure, she IS in a relationship, but if you had compassion and truly believed what you claim to, you would be providing support to people in her situation, not criticism. You really think it would be easy for ANYONE to leave a 20yr relationship? She should just lose her job instead?
If many Catholics truly do believe that gay people should practice abstinence, they should also acknowledge how hard that would be. Abstinence as a priest/nun etc is different - you are leading a holy life, and have a vocation, a reason to not be married. But for gay people, you are just telling them to not have sex and giving no other structure to their lives, and no support. It won’t work. At the same time, gay people, even the ones who are NOT practising, are criticised for being part of the church or of a catholic organisation.
