Nuns Urge Catholic Voters to Challenge Church

It is interesting that so many people say the Gospels are silent on homosexuality, yet they ignore the other books in the OT and NT. They also ignore the fact that Jesus is God and everything that is, was, and will be, comes through and for Jesus. That means everything that God said in the OT and NT is something that Jesus also said because He is part of the Holy Trinity–He IS God. If God said it in the OT, then that means Jesus said it. Many people miss that critical point.
It should also be pointed out that Jesus was ALWAYS in perfect agreement with the Father (John 10:30)

Heresy is one of the sins that separate you from the Body of Christ, apart from which there is no salvation. Same goes for schism (rejection of papal authority). These “nuns” are in grave, grave danger of losing their souls to eternal damnation and torment. Especially since they are trying to lead others astray too. Pray for their conversion to Jesus Christ.

The vast majority of the 1.2 billion Catholics fall into the realm of liberal or ultra-liberal.
Many are called, but few are chosen. There’s a lot of people at the wedding feast these days who aren’t wearing their wedding garment. According to Jesus, those folks are bound and thrown into the darkness where there is weeping and gnashing of teeth.

Likewise, the Kingdom of God is like a net, which catches all types of fish–then the good will be separated from the bad. The wheat grows along with the tares, because the devil has planted seeds in the field. The tares will be thrown into the fire. Jesus will separate the sheep from the goats in His flock–and those not found to be His sheep will be thrown into eternal Hell.

There are a lot of people who think they can believe whatever they want and still be saved. Let us pray for their conversion to the one true faith of Christ, especially those priests, bishops, and religious who do not believe. To whom much is given, much will be required.

Especially since they are trying to lead others astray too…
Yes, this came to mind when I read your post…

Matt:2313 But woe to you scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites; because you shut the kingdom of heaven against men, for you yourselves do not enter in; and those that are going in, you suffer not to enter.

This is maddening. It’s a pet peeve of mine because I am related by marriage to a couple nuns, and I have worked with a number of priests, and many times I asked myself, “why are these people even in this church, let alone taken sacramental vows?!”
I remember telling one of these nuns I had given up meat for lent, she looked at me like I was from another century and said, “how quaint.” I’m pretty sure she does not believe in God. As for the priests I worked with, one is jail for sex crimes, one other should be, and there’s not much good to say about the others.

It’s sad to say, but I am actually surprised when I find a priest who believes in the divine presence, or talks about sin, judgement
heaven, or hell.

There was something in this article that struck me as fitting the nuns I know to a “T”. It was when they said “they did not want to be treated like children.” (even though they are actually, given a powerful responsibility). But it seems like they would rather deny God and the church than to to feel “talked down to” by some patriarchal priest/bishop/pope.

Yes they should… as these ‘nuns’ should be excommunicated also.
I do not doubt that but could you please cite a reference to that. Also if that is true then could it not be argued that any Priest who supports Birth Control (as they are an abortificient) could they be excommunicated too?

What’s wrong with Ultra-Conservative? Its better than liberalism thats for sure.
Don’t hold your breath, I know in the North East it won’t go over well, nor will offending 75% of thier Parish base go well with the bottom line. It may seem crazy but when 75% of Catholics in the North East are pro-abortion, you can’t start to crack down on it, hence why I have never heard a homily on abortion, birth control, divorce (except my Parish priest essentially saying it’s a lofty ideal and the Church has ways to remedy those who can’t fit the ideal) or fornication. It won’t happen IMO.
  1. Here are a series of statements about issues facing the United States. For each, please tell me whether you agree strongly, agree somewhat, disagree somewhat or disagree strongly. – There has also been much discussion about the legality of abortion. Do you believe that abortion should be… (ABORTLEG)

CAF is great, but also realize it is the ultra-conservative position most of the time. Sometimes we loose site of what the majority of Catholics are thinking. We can see that only 12% believe murdering a child should be illegal in all cases.

Like it or not, the nuns views are more in line wuith the majority of the Church militant than the correct views expressed here at CAF.

Well… one good thing… a thread where we are all in agreement 👍

I too wish they’d make public those ‘nuns’ excommunication. Not to mention any member of the Parish… Priests… Bishops… Arch Bishops… Cardinals… that don’t follow the Church’s teachings also.

**“We’re supposed to vote as our conscience tells us, not as the archbishop’s conscience tells him,” said Cunningham, a member of the Sisters of Loretto. “I have great respect for the archbishop, but I think that’s kind of treating us like children.”

**

i love this quote. here you have a bunch of nuns acting like a bunch of spoiled brats who won’t obey their father and complaining about being treated like children!😃

The excommunions are necessary sometimes.
Yes, they are, and when one s given a position of power, particularly the power to teach, it is all the more necessary. Somone previously said that 85% of the Church is liberal, but I think that’s way too high. Its probably pretty even between liberals and conservatives, with the vast majority in between being too lazy to discern the truth for themselves. They tend to follow what the heirarchy says, but if they only hear crickets when listening to them, then they do what the loudmouths like these nuns tell them.
I cannot help but think that the vast majority of bishops are, at best, mediocrities, and at worst, outright cowards.

They say that they believe in not answering a violent act with more violence, but they believe abortion, they most violent act against another human being, is ok. What kind of double-talk is this. I agree, they have already excommunicated themselves, and are no longer Catholic. Pray for them.

Ok when will we hear about a public excommuniaction? better a Catholic Church with few faithful than a church with many unfaithful.

Sometimes, as Voltaire said, “The English shoot an admiral to encourage the others.”

The Church may have to do the same. I personally think a public excommunication would go a long ways to bringing a lot of these flaky types back onto the straight and narrow.
