Big Bird is an institution. Sorry. That is reason enough. Killing Bird is almost like banning mom’s and apple pie. Not quite, but almost.Difference is some of mine were actually compromises, not straight party agenda.

In the last few days of the campaign, Obama has, effectively in my view, made the election a referendum on trustworthiness. Social psychological research has found that the credibility of someone who is trying to persuade us is based on the characteristics of the speaker, which interact with the message s/he delivers, the method of delivery, and the characteristics of the audience. Although it is a bit more complicated, the two essentials of an effective speaker are perceived trustworthiness and expertise. I think Obama is perceived, rightly or wrongly, as more trustworthy than Romney, while Romney is perhaps regarded as having more potential expertise. Hence the closeness of the election. It’s sad how blind so many of you are. You claim the democrats can’t work with republicans? Who’s fault is that? Who’s the party of religious idealism? Which party compromised on health care so we could get something passed? Only in America could we have such blindness. Get out and see the world people - it might surprise you.
Fortunately Obama will win, but the fact this is close is quite disturbing. I can’t even tell what Mitt believes on any issue, yet we have 45% of this country that want him to do the most important job in the nation? How can you trust a man who lies so much and doesn’t even know where he stands?
I think there is enough merchandising $$ to keep Big Bird on TV for the next 100 years. There is no need for a penny of tax money to go toward PBS.Big Bird is an institution. Sorry. That is reason enough. Killing Bird is almost like banning mom’s and apple pie. Not quite, but almost.
That’s about all that does go toward PBS from the government. And who says we as a nation don’t support quality, thought-provoking television?I think there is enough merchandising $$ to keep Big Bird on TV for the next 100 years. There is no need for a penny of tax money to go toward PBS.

Hey, come on! Big Bird is not in an institution. That’s just rude. Just because he’s not particularly bright, doesn’t mean he is a danger to society. I mean, sure, he is a bird brain, but that comes with his muppet species…Big Bird is an institution. Sorry. That is reason enough. Killing Bird is almost like banning mom’s and apple pie. Not quite, but almost.
So, as a Catholic, you feel that the killing of a million innocent human beings per year is a “personal issue?”This two party system no longer works. One side is using religious idealism as a means to block any progress or compromise. They are obsessed with abortion and gay marriage, the other side is a compassionate liberals who compromise way too easily. We should divide the country into blue land and red land. The two sides can do as they please. No more arguing over persona issues like abortion. Things get done and everyone is happy.
Yes, it’s time for cessation from the union again! This two party system no longer works. One side is using religious idealism as a means to block any progress or compromise. How ironic that the president who had not been forthcoming on the Benghazi scandal would make this election about trust. I suppose LBJ could have run in 1968 afterall on the issue of peace. In the last few days of the campaign, Obama has, effectively in my view, made the election a referendum on trustworthiness. .
Apparently, you haven’t watched much PBS.That’s about all that does go toward PBS from the government. And who says we as a nation don’t support quality, thought-provoking television?
The programs on PBS, if they have merit, would survive a cut in funding. That’s about all that does go toward PBS from the government. And who says we as a nation don’t support quality, thought-provoking television?
Hello, my name is Scott Elliott. I’m a 46-year-old husband of 26 years to the world’s most incredible woman and father to three wonderful sons, one amazing daughter and one awesome daughter-in-law. My wife and I are also blessed to have a precious little granddaughter and grandson. I am a Christian. Jesus is my life and my purpose. I look forward to meeting Him in heaven face to face someday. Until then, I’m also a political aficionado in the worst way, and I just love numbers. What do you get when you mix a passion for politics and a lifelong fascination with numbers? This website!
I hope you’ll enjoy this project. So far my track record is pretty good, I think. In 2004, my formula projected Bush would win 289 electoral votes. He won 286. Formulas for the 2006 mid-term Senate and House elections proved to be better than my hunches - they picked the GOP to lose the House and the Senate. In fact, my formula’s projection for the Senate picked every seat correctly and missed only Minnesota among the gubernatorial races. In 2008, my formula projected a solid victory for Barack Obama - though he did even better than my numbers suggested by taking North Carolina and Indiana. Still, 48 out of 50 ain’t too shabby.
edit -Last cycle, Election Projection’s House projections were closer than any other major prognosticating website. EP predicted Republicans would bag a net of 64 new seats, a monumental shift in the balance of power. When all the votes were counted, they had gained 63. As we gear up for President Obama’s re-election campaign in 2012, I’ll be here every step of the way with insightful political commentary, polls, projections, and more! I hope you’ll make Election Projection a routine stop on your travels around the internet.

In developing the formula, I made every effort to be objective, rather than biased toward the GOP. Yes, I am Republican, but this formula does not, in any way, falsely inflate the GOP’s standing.
That’s because these days, Democrats don’t work with anybody. If they can’t get their own way, they want REVENGE. And condoms. And pink vagina suits.
I watch quite a bit of PBS. Admittedly, it has declined compared to years past, but it’s still miles ahead of most of the other television fare.Apparently, you haven’t watched much PBS.![]()
I would be happy to live in a red state like Utah. Atheists, secular humanists, agnostics, feminists, abortionists, environmentalists, socialists, the politically correct, and other Obama voters might be happier living in Massachusetts. Have to give it some thought, but only if Alec Baldwin is not given a passport to visit red territory. This two party system no longer works. Good Lord! Benghazi again? Upset because U.S. diplomatic personnel - a whole 4 people - were killed? How about a bit of concern for our soldiers who were no less in harm’s way in Afghanistan and being killed? How ironic that the president who had not been forthcoming on the Benghazi scandal would make this election about trust. I suppose LBJ could have run in 1968 afterall on the issue of peace.

I support Obama but dread this kind of split.edit -

Statisticians, unlike the winners, losers and media, have no reason to falsify the reality of an upcoming election. And they are historically more accurate.
Projections for Saturday, November 3, 2012
Electoral Votes:
Barack Obama 290
Mitt Romney 248
Popular Vote:
Barack Obama 49%
Mitt Romney 49.4%
If Obama wins in the Electoral College alone, there’ll be no end of grumbling from the right wing, and we can kiss any prayer of the two sides working together goodbye.I support Obama but dread this kind of split.
Yes, Benghazi scandal. I know some would like this annoying issue to go away. Its about the cover up. What did Obama know and when did he know it - that is a refrain that you should be familiar with as it was asked of a Republican president in the early 70’s. A cover up of a break in - in which nobody died - brought down a presidency. One would hope that thoughtful people on both sides of the aise would want to know the truth on Benghazi. Apparently the desire to get Obama re-elected is stronger than the desire to get the truth.Good Lord! Benghazi again? Upset because U.S. diplomatic personnel - a whole 4 people - were killed? How about a bit of concern for our soldiers who were no less in harm’s way in Afghanistan and being killed?![]()
