Awesome! We ate at Crabby Bill’s along Gulf Boulevard in the Indian Shores area. Fresh grouper and the first week of stone crab season. the food was great, the atmosphere snarly, and our waitress chewed gum (or tobacco) the entire time.
I love being called “Hon” by unpretentious Southern waitresses like that! 😃

Obama has won this election (thank God!). Ohio will not go to Mitt, making it impossible for him to win. It may be close in the popular vote, but the electoral vote will go to Obama.

Being a person who is self-employed and with pre-existing conditions, I for the first time, will be able to get health insurance because of Obama. I can’t see any republican doing that, which is a very anti-pro life.

Checking calendar…nope, election hasn’t happened yet. How did Obama win already?

I love overconfident liberals. 😛

I know you aren’t talking about me. I don’t know who will win though I TEND to believe that Obama will.

The overconfident I see around here aren’t the liberals.

Liberals? How about overconfident conservatives? EstesBob is predicting that Romney is going to win by a landslide. :hmmm:

Isn’t there something about chickens and hatching them??

Sure, but there is a bit of difference between saying “Obama has won” versus predicting your candidate will win big. Either way, I love it. As previously noted, I have $100 bet with my overconfident boss who gave me 10 to 1 odds that Obama would win. 😛

Our General Manager, while similarly crowing that Obama would win big, didn’t put his money where his mouth is. Obviously, his overconfidence is just bluster. 😃

Any takers matching my boss? I’ll gladly put another $100 down, if you are willing to put down $1000. If not, I don’t want to hear your bluster.

The Electoral College may indeed make things tricky.

But something is happening. Ordinary people often refrained from voicing displeasure with Obama. Political correctness at its best. After the October 3rd debate, there now seems to be a general consensus that it is finally okay to openly criticize Obama and (gasp!) perhaps even vote against him. Suddenly, Romney signs are appearing on lawns everywhere. Some media establishments, particularly mainstream newspapers, are quite blunt in their criticisms of Obama while simultaneously endorsing Mitt Romney. There is a movement afoot in America, my friends. People are finally recognizing the need for real “change” in America. We have “hope” once again.

I think odds between the two candidates are about even, not 10 to 1, so I’ll match your $100 if you are interested.

What are the bookies giving?

Trying not to be uncharitible… Although it is wonderful that you will now be able to obtain affordable care for your health problems, it is unfortunate that the death of millions of unborn babies is paid for with that same bill. Pro-life is not just about abortions, but it is about allowing all people to have the chance live… to come to know and love and serve God. God does not give everyone bodily health (I myself have fibromyalgia and am bipolar with no health insurance).

And I wouldn’t be so sure of the polls. There are many issues in Ohio that could swing the state to Romney, such as fracking.

God bless you and I wish you the best in your health struggle.

I lived in MA with Romney’s entire governorship. I will give him his enormous contribution on healthcare but besides that- which the Conservatives decry- I didn’t see this “change”.

It’s ironic that he has to distance himself from the thing he did which WAS actually a real accomplishment.

But he is a nice guy who loves his wife. I’m not going to compare him to Hitler or use terms like “demonic” and “thugs” like I read around here about Obama.

Wait, wait, wait, hold on. Are you saying that Conservative political thought is part and parcel with the Pro-Life position???

When did that happen???

Where are you reading that in their post?

Yep. They used to be overconfident, but even they have tightened the odds.
Yep, thus my nervousness.

But posts around here, by some conservatives are off the mark, thus my saving of comments for later reference, ala the morning after the election.

To my memory, you haven’t referred to any Romney “landslide”, which shows a good degree of balanced thought.

I don’t go to the Daily Kos, MSNBC, or Jezabel for balanced opinions and I believe that going to Breitbart, Drudge Report, or Red State is, similarly, going to lead to accurate information regarding this election.

Yes, have your political leanings but don’t become a blind ideologue. It’s so unbecoming
