Excluding Muslims, Mormons and others who don’t share your view of what is acceptable deviancy and what deviancy you think the state should endorse. . By what logic do you exclude them? Why is one icky behavior acceptable and the other is not?
 
I find all these claims of Obama’s “support” somewhat funny.

He’s declared him himself “in support of gay marriage” with the same amount of vigor that John Kerry declared himself as being prolife. Both claimed a “personal” conviction that they would not foist onto others.

That’s why Obama picked a nice softball reporter to come out of the closet to that would never dream of asking him a few hard questions. All in all he’s trying to have it both ways.
 
Still the church he used to attend before he became president was a “rainbow church”.
 
As a candidate for the Illinois state senate Obama had said in 1994 that he favored legalizing same-sex marriage; but by the time of his run for the US senate in 2004, he said that while he supported civil unions and domestic partnerships for same-sex partners, for strategic reasons he opposed same-sex marriages.

On May 9, 2012, shortly after the official launch of his campaign for re-election as president, Obama said his views had evolved, and he publicly affirmed his personal support for the legalization of same-sex marriage, becoming the first sitting U.S. president to do so.

I can understand one flip-flop, but two definitely looks bad. I hope the President can come up with a good explanation for why his position has changed not once, but twice.

Actually he was testing the waters. Had the press gone the other way Obama would have said nothing and the story woudl have died.

I think you’re spot on. They own the media = they own public perception = they own votes because too much of the public lacks critical thinking, analytical skills, and just goes along with what they hear on TV. Sad, but true. And they have the money to put the message in front of the people = propaganda.

What I don’t understand about blacks and Hispanics is why so many are voting for liberals who will trash the innocence of their families, but who will put a few more dollars in their pockets. That hardly sounds like an even exchange. I’ll take less money and more innocence and true beauty anyday.

This whole administration is a Hollywood script. Nancy Pelosi’s ideology could never get elected, and they knew it, so the makeup artist came in, painted the skin a little darker, and suddenly it looked like a good ideology. Voila! In the White House.

I have a hard time believing our benevolent creator would damn so many people to unhappiness by cursing them with a desire for love that can never be satisfied.

First of all,
it is blasphemy and libel against God to assert that Our Creator instilled same sex desires in any human being whatsoever. He did not instill that desire in ANYONE.
Same sex desire is simply one of the disorders that appear in human beings
due to the disorder between body/soul/spirit caused by the Fall of Man back in
the mists of pre-history.

God did not implant this unnatural desire in anyone.
Any one with a modicum of biblical knowledge and church teaching
knows that full well.

I am appalled that there are people who assert these things being allowed
to remain in the priesthood.
And even if 99% of Catholics condoned same-sex activity and “marriage,” it would
still be heretical to do so.

Yes, you charitably suggested I “shift my incredulity” to those you felt deserved compassion,

I think we should all consider how we will cut our losses in this country as our churches empty. The way separation of church and state is lived in this country will change as time goes on and I want it to stay on the side of my Catholic faith not being impinged.

I find having same sex weddings more palatable than, as an example, having an Evangelical point of view of Creation forced on my kids in a school. How would we as Catholics deal with that? It cuts both ways.
