I’d suggest they review the Catechism, Part Three, Section One, Chapter Two, Article 2, Paragraph I.
Bolded was my emphasis

PART THREE
LIFE IN CHRIST

SECTION ONE
MAN’S VOCATION LIFE IN THE SPIRIT

CHAPTER TWO
THE HUMAN COMMUNION

ARTICLE 2
PARTICIPATION IN SOCIAL LIFE

I. AUTHORITY

1897 "Human society can be neither well-ordered nor prosperous unless it has some people invested with legitimate authority to preserve its institutions and to devote themselves as far as is necessary to work and care for the good of all."15

By “authority” one means the quality by virtue of which persons or institutions make laws and give orders to men and expect obedience from them.

1898 Every human community needs an authority to govern it.16 The foundation of such authority lies in human nature. It is necessary for the unity of the state. Its role is to ensure as far as possible the common good of the society.

1899 The authority required by the moral order derives from God: "Let every person be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those that exist have been instituted by God. Therefore he who resists the authorities resists what God has appointed, and those who resist will incur judgment."17

1900 The duty of obedience requires all to give due honor to authority and to treat those who are charged to exercise it with respect, and, insofar as it is deserved, with gratitude and good-will.

Pope St. Clement of Rome provides the Church’s most ancient prayer for political authorities:18 "Grant to them, Lord, health, peace, concord, and stability, so that they may exercise without offense the sovereignty that you have given them. Master, heavenly King of the ages, you give glory, honor, and power over the things of earth to the sons of men. Direct, Lord, their counsel, following what is pleasing and acceptable in your sight, so that by exercising with devotion and in peace and gentleness the power that you have given to them, they may find favor with you."19
1901 If authority belongs to the order established by God, "the choice of the political regime and the appointment of rulers are left to the free decision of the citizens."20

The diversity of political regimes is morally acceptable, provided they serve the legitimate good of the communities that adopt them. Regimes whose nature is contrary to the natural law, to the public order, and to the fundamental rights of persons cannot achieve the common good of the nations on which they have been imposed.

1902 Authority does not derive its moral legitimacy from itself. It must not behave in a despotic manner, but must act for the common good as a “moral force based on freedom and a sense of responsibility”:21

A human law has the character of law to the extent that it accords with right reason, and thus derives from the eternal law. Insofar as it falls short of right reason it is said to be an unjust law, and thus has not so much the nature of law as of a kind of violence.22
1903 Authority is exercised legitimately only when it seeks the common good of the group concerned and if it employs morally licit means to attain it.** If rulers were to enact unjust laws or take measures contrary to the moral order, such arrangements would not be binding in conscience. In such a case, "authority breaks down completely and results in shameful abuse."23**

1904 "It is preferable that each power be balanced by other powers and by other spheres of responsibility which keep it within proper bounds. This is the principle of the ‘rule of law,’ in which the law is sovereign and not the arbitrary will of men."24

There are four sins that cry to heaven for vengeance. In order of importance:
  • homicide
  • sodomy
  • oppression of the poor (especially widows, orphans, foreigners)
  • defrauding laborers of their wages
The approved private revelations of numerous modern Saints and Servants of God speak to the fact that our times are worse than those preceding the Deluge.

In my opinion, the world is ripe for an “illumination of conscience”.

The United States will now become a one party nation.
I always thought - and prayed - America would die sometime soon. Honestly, I think democracy is a joke. I really don’t think people are smart, or at least informed, enough to rule themselves.

It’s just a problem of what will rise in its place…

My “salvation” is long lost. Trust me. Don’t waste your time.
Salvation is not lost until we die. Because you, my friend, never merited your own salvation. Christ, the Son of God, merited your salvation. He holds it in His hands and protects it as His own precious possession.

However, you do have the free will to renounce to it. It’s your choice.

Well, at least the people in the deluge weren’t actively facilitating and celebrating their own demise. Just look at all the people here lately with the “👍:):extrahappy::clapping:” responses. Even some that claim to be Catholic.

Really heartening to hear the voice of sanity at least occasionally in this forum

Not to us, O LORD, not to us but to your name be the glory, because of your love and faithfulness. Why do the nations say, “Where is their God?” Our God is in heaven; he does whatever pleases him. (Psalm 115:1-3)

Wohi hua jo Manzur-e-kuda tha!

Thank you. I know not everyone on here is going to agree, but I have to speak up for what I think is hurting the republican party.

I truly thought Mitt Romney had a chance of victory…but deep down inside, I somehow felt that Obama had the greater advantage.

To be honest I dont like Obama in social issues at all. I don’t agree with his stand on abortion and homosexual marriage. I don’t agree with many other things neither but at the same time I kind of thought Obama might have won. There are different reasons for this. First I don’t think that Romney had a clear plan including fixing social security and other things like PBS. The second thing is that there were a lot more young and minority voters that voted. Which is another reason I think Obama won. Romney didn’t appeal to many minorities including immigrants

Why are people so sad. The GOP still controls congress. Starting tomorrow Obama is a Lame Duck. Besides, in my opinion he’s the Democrats GW bush. He’s not liberal enough for some people. His base loves him but the rest hate him. I honestly think in 4 years he will be thought of as a failed president. Honestly the only thing positive about him is that he was the first black president. Other than that he will be a failure.

What are you trying to say, by this?
If you expected a direct answer, I cannot give it. I am not informed enough on the topic you mention to answer directly.

There’s something about authority that we have to get straight. And that we need to form our conscience properly. It’s not a clean-cut situation. It’s complex. Every situation has its own set of variables. US is not China, to begin with.

So my suggestion is to educate ourselves more on how to deal with respect for authority and loyalty to God.

The GOP only controls the House, not Congress.

Stunning isn’t it?😦

Well put. Where did you get that hierarchical list? I heard something similar on a catechetical program on our local radio station.
I found it online, but it was a quote from the Catechism of Pius X:
8 Q. Which are the sins that are said to cry to God for vengeance?
A. The sins that are said to cry to God for vengeance are these four: (1) Willful murder; (2) The sin of sodomy; (3) Oppression of the poor; (4) Defrauding labourers of their wages.
9 Q. Why are these sins said to cry to God for vengeance?
A. These sins are said to cry to God for vengeance because the Holy Ghost says so, and because their iniquity is so great and so manifest that it provokes God to punish them with the severest chastisements.

Back in 1835, when Halley's Comet was overhead, same night those men died at the Alamo, they say Samuel Colt made a gun. A special gun. He made it for a hunter. A man like us, only on horseback. Story goes, he made thirteen bullets. This hunter used the gun a half dozen times before he disappeared, the gun along with him... Somehow Daniel got his hands on it. They say... they say this gun can kill anything.

The Colt

John introduces the Colt as a hunter’s legend; a singular gun made by Samuel Colt in 1835 for a hunter at the time. It has supernatural powers: when used with the supernatural bullets made specially for it, the gun can kill anything. [1] It is said to be able to kill nearly any Supernatural being. Lucifer says he is one of only five things that can’t be killed by it.[2]

It also acts as a key for the Devil’s Gate in Wyoming, which opens a door to Hell.[3]

Currently its whereabouts are unknown. It was last seen in Carthage, Missouri, in the possession of Lucifer. [2]

The Texas Paterson 1836

The first type of production handgun made by the real Samuel Colt is a Texas Paterson 1836. Supernatural Prop Master Chris Cooper found a replica of the gun at a Las Vegas gun show. The original revolver was a powder and cap gun, but the Supernatural prop department made a new revolver piece that could take cartridges. [4]

Although not obvious to anyone not familiar with the Paterson model, “The Colt” does in fact, have a trigger. While the Colt Paterson Revolvers in general, as well as “The Colt” do not have trigger guards, the trigger for these revolvers are inset flush into base of the frame, and drop down automatically when the hammer is cocked. The trigger can be clearly seen behind Bobby’s finger when he is test-firing it in the scene where Ruby first appears to help him restore it to its Demon killing abilities.

Colt Gun

Invented by Samuel Colt, a gun named after its inventor “Colt”, and after its revolving cylinder. Before the Colt revolver, only one and two-barrel flintlock pistols had been invented for hand held use. Colt revolvers were all based on cap-and-ball technology until the Smith and Wesson license on the bored-through cylinder (bought from Rollin White) expired around 1869.

Individualization

The Colt used in Supernatural has some special “features”:

Latin Inscription: Non timebo mala translates to “I will fear no evil” from Latin, and is a reference to Psalm 23 and the quote "For though I should walk in the midst of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for thou art with me. It has inspired many Fan Tattoos. The font used is Plakat Fraktur.

Numbers: The 13 bullets made by Samuel Colt are engraved with numbers.
