do you think he will do a better job than Hillary Clinton did? he wouldn’t have been my first choice, but i am not a democrat.

Yet another horrendous Obama appointee. Frankly, I expected no better from Obama than his nominating someone who testified and lied before Congress about “atrocities” committed by his fellow soldiers, comparing them to those of “Jenjis Khan”. 🤷

Massachusetts senator and onetime Democratic presidential nominee John Kerry will be nominated on Dec. 21, 2012, as the next Secretary of State, NBC confirms.

Kerry, who has been considered the overwhelming frontrunner for the job since**Susan Rice withdrew herself from consideration**, is likely to face few hurdles during his Senate confirmation. - NBC News

I am hearing that he will easily be confirmed
Yes, I think Kerry is a good choice both politically and substantively. For one thing, he is interested in engaging the Middle East in peace talks, as well as being very familiar with foreign leaders and the international scene.

Agreed - given the current president John Kerry is exactly the sort of person he should have fill the post. No point in sending mixed messages.

Maybe Kerry can exert some influence on Obama. After all, the latter is quite amenable to criticism and negotiation and flexible in his views, don’t you think?

You betcha. The fact that you can look up the words “haughty,” and “poseur” in the dictionary, and find Mr. Kerry’s picture there, should tell you something. I wonder if the fact that he moored his $6,000,000 yacht out of state to avoid Massachusetts taxes will come out in his confirmation hearing.

Could you provide an example of that? For the life of me I can’t think of one.

Probably not, his hearing will sale through without question.

Actually a more pertinent question might deal with his secret meetings in 1970 with the North Vietnamese. But that will never get brought up. John Kerry has John McCain’s blessing and he’ll make sure the Rinos toe the line.

I was joking, Sam. However, I still believe Kerry is a knowledgeable and skilled person for the job.
The same man that said the surge in Iraq was huge mistake but the mini surge in Afghanistan was a good idea? At least he and Joe Biden will have something to talk about.

Another pro abortion politician

John Kerry called America an international pariah in 2007 which made headlines in Iran

What does John Kerry’s stance on abortion have to do with his being Secretary of State? I see the old Obama-apologizes-for-America smear is now directed against Kerry.

American Secretary of State goes to various countries discussing with world leaders policy and the Secretary of State can have a lot of influence. Hillary Clinton went around the world promoting abortion and gay marriage legislation

John Kerry? :crossrc:EEEEEEEYyyyyyyyyyaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhh!

Kill me now.

No big surprise tho… They Democrat machine at work…

Well les see. Obama won re-election, so he gets to choose the person he wants to be Secretary of State.

It’s the way it goes when a member of one of the two political parties wins the WH.

Did you folks expect Obama to pick a Republican for the job?

I have no problem with John Kerry being Secretary of State.

Jim
