So it was not North Korea after all.
There is a LOT more to this story than the media in the US is telling us. Like the fact that a rough cut of the movie was SCREENED for the State Department a few months ago and that they were consultants on the film.
It might LOOK like a stupid comedy, but there is much more here than meets the eye.

The government influencing the public by meddling in both the media and entertainment industries? If thats true, then this nation needs to have a complete ‘stand-down’ in protest of this government. Shut it all down. We are not ‘subjects’ of the government.

I think it was shown to the governnent so they could sign off on it.
Sony might have been concerned about a few parts in the movie and wanted the government’s approval first or vice versa.
I don’t know that there are any secret messages in there or not.

Who said anything about secret messages? Its a very clear and concise message.
I think the idea was, stupid as it might be, that the movie would make its way into NK and ‘encourage’ real assassination attempts. Otherwise it may have gone down the memory hole. Now, EVERYBODY, including the NKs, want to see it.
As for the bolded…you seriously have no problem with that?

For one, you would have to be crazy to attempt to assasinate the NK leader if you live over there. So I don’t see how it could encourage assasination attempts. The State Department obviously does not have to sign off on every movie Hollywood makes so, no, I don’t have a problem.

I just watched the movie.

In the movie two journalists set up an interview with Kim, but when the CIA catch wind of it, they tell the journalists to put a poisonous sticker on their hand, so when they shake Kims hand, he will die in less than a week. The gay journalist begins to sympathize with Kim, until he finds out the food in the grocery stores are fake -which was set up to trick the journalists while traveling to the supreme leaders residence.

In the end, the supreme leaders interview didnt go as he planned and began to cry on camera, which caused people to question his god like status. Kim then became angry and shot one of the journalists, but the journalist had a bullet proof vest on. Kim ended up being shot down out of his helicopter by the two journalists and a female propoganda agent gone bad. You see kims face catch on fire close-up as the helicopter gets shot down by the two journalists in a stolen NK tank that was given to Kims grandfather as a gift from Stalin.

…i know. I just ruined the movie… But nobody said you had to read this.

…in the end, NK goes through a revolution and becomes democratized. The two journalists take full credit for the whole thing.

The movie was semi-funny, but had excessive sexually charged content -non-graphic of course. There were homosexual overtones that were more than disgusting and a lot of fowl language. Typical for a modern “comedy” these days.

I predict a lot of people will be disappointed in the movie and NK will be outraged for awhile.
