That’s what happens when systems aren’t thoroughly tested. In this case it seems the volume exceeded expectations. Eventually that will be fixed, if they let it. In the past, busy signals on the other end frustrated customers. It’s not that much different when websites don’t allow you past the first page.
Having worked in data processing (now called IT) for over 35 years, I know these things happen, though most in subtle ways. There is always someone there fearing his job will be lost to a new system who will try to delay implementation or something of that nature. Not saying that he will be planting “viruses” but there are many other ways of obstructing implementations. You’re right, though, these things will work themselves out eventually.Not to be a conspiracy theorist…but the thought did cross my mind that if a programmer happened to be against Obamacare he could delay it’s implementation by screwing up the program so subtly but so badly that it no one could get proper info or sign up…
In such a case - after a week or so the site would be taken down for repairs and reworking and the government would have push back implementation.
I’m not saying this is what happened…but If I was into conspiracies…Bwaahaahahaaaa

If it’s this rickety, who is to say all kinds of “Trojan horses” and other spyware or even sabotage viruses can’t be introduced into it during its “tryout phase”? I think if I were one of the head mullahs in Iran I would be directing my hackers to work day and night to infiltrate it and everything connected to it.
There have been confirmations of people buying on the State Exchanges but so far not a single person can be found that has signed up on the federal exchange. When asked today the White House said they didn’t have that data either. But they knew exactly how many had visited the federal site.
Especially after three years to get prepared.

In a couple of months access to the website will be the least of your worries. I’ve been through 35 years of it and know computer glitches are very short-term.
