Most other nations seem to manage, work on your trust and faith and hope. No worries for you if you have the best of the best or if you’re healthy at the moment!

Let’s see if I got this: the government that can’t put together a website to register people for their health insurance program, is the same government we’re going to trust to run health care when (or is it if) they get people registered. Got it.

Jon
This is completely wrong. The insurance policies people purchase on the exchanges are being written by private-sector insurance companies, not the government. Any health care services provided to people while covered under these policies will be provided by private practices and hospitals (the same entities that provide health care today), not the government.

Most other nations have not run into trouble with hanging chads either though.

Have you never been to a website that was overloaded with people trying to log on? Come on. The fact that so many people want to check it out should say something.

Yes, and MUCH room for improvement in things that are directly aimed to destroy American healthcare.
Do you mean the American healthcare system 30% of the country did not have access to because they were denied coverage for a pre-existing condition? The American healthcare system that capped out at $200,000 and if you needed more coverage you were forced to mortgage your home or wait for death? That healthcare system?

They may be operated by insurance companies, but the central government is running it. And as the program sinks further, the call, predictably, from the left will be for a single payer system.

So, you’re saying that the central government, knowing the high usage of these sites, wasn’t prepared.

Relax. Tomorrow they’ll announce they’re still in beta testing. 🙂

Possibly. Maybe the demand was more than they expected. BTW it’s good that people are now referring to it as ACA rather than Obamacare. If it works we can’t have his name on the program. Since the meme has changed quite a bit in the last week, I’m thinking that people are afraid it may become too popular.

The “bronze plan” is hardly insurance - its more a card you put in your pocket hoping you never need it.
Like the insurance cards we have now? They rarely cover anything anymore.

This is a stunningly ignorant post. PLEASE educate yourself about the facts of this debate before making any more posts. I will point you in the right direction to help. The people in this country who were not insured (estimates range from 10-30 million) were not insured for MANY reasons. First, even the high estimate number, 30 million, is less than 10% of the population. Your 30% number is pure garbage.

Second, they do not have insurance for many reasons as noted above. MANY are uninsured simply because they don’t want to buy it. They are NOT prevented from buying it, they just don’t want to, and want to spend their money on other things. Many others are uninsured, only temporary, either through job loss or some other reason.

Please educate yourself on the facts of this debate.

Key word, “seem”.

Take a REAL look at those other systems and see if they are really working or not. They aren’t. All of them are failing, especially as the demographics of their country place greater burdens on the system as the populations age.

Those nations have health care systems that are failing financially, and failing in the quality of care they deliver.

Low-info voters who voted in Obama believe they were going to get “free” insurance paid for by that stash of “Obamamoney”. That is why the enrollment rate is less than 1%. When people can finally get through, they are shocked (shocked I say) to find out they have to actually pay for this “free” healthcare.

And the websites shouldn’t be overloaded. They aren’t handling that much traffic. (most of the numbers they are touting have turned out to be fake as well).

Source for this 30% number? Care to take a stab at the number of people that applied for health insurance using the pre-existing condition law? It certainly wasn’t 94 million.

Have they found a person that has actually enrolled yet? To date I know they found only one - and it turned out his claim was faked.

Agreed.

Look at the UK or Canada. Every year or two they have a massive legislative battle on how to “fix” their system because it doesn’t work as advertised.

The types of congressional battles the US is seeing this year will be the future of health care.
