President Obama’s short public schedule Thursday features remarks at the annual National Prayer Breakfast.
While the president is expected to discuss the role of faith in public life, foreign policy watchers will be keeping an eye on whether Obama meets with another breakfast guest: The Dalai Lama.
China objects to any presidential meeting with the Dalai Lama, calling him a dangerous separatist.
Obama and the Dalai Lama have met privately at the White House; this is the first time they have appeared at the same public event.
He is speaking now. Have to wait to hear the context.

Just seen on Fox, Obama says Christians killed in the name of God. Cites Crusades.

Technically, he’s right. We killed Muslims in the name of God, in order to protect pilgrims travelling in the Holy Land.

I’m sure 'Bama’s intent with it is derogatory, but that doesn’t make him wrong.

I haven’t watched or read O’s speech from this morning. However,I have to ask…when is he going to address the obvious fact that ISIS are Muslim terrorists killing in the name of Allah!Rhetorical questionBTY:cool:

I thought he spoke well of Pope Francis, thats his best nobel peace prize inter-religious dialogue.

He “almost” did, it was on the tip of his tongue. 😃

Oh, trust me, I agree completely. The man refuses to acknowledge reality, just like the rest of his ilk.

He wasn’t wrong, but he’s not adding to the dialogue. The Crusades were almost 1,000 years ago.

“Before we get on our high horse.” What exactly is he trying to accomplish except more divisiveness? Because Crusaders did it 1,000 years ago, it’s ok for ISIS to do it today?

And, technically, we were defending the Holy Land against the murderous Moslems, who started that war.

He clearly shows lack of understanding of history.

👍👍👍

That man’s associated with history in the same way a devout Jew is associated with a bacon production facility.

‘In our home country, slavery and Jim Crow all too often was justified in the name of Christ.’
From the link.

He clearly has no understanding of history. About all the nuns and priests who came to America to educate Native Americans. Who built schools and hospitals for Native Americans. How the Church condemned slavery and desegregation in this country. How nuns in the St. Louis area taught black children on islands in the Mississippi River because it was illegal to do so in the states of MO and IL.

CLUELESS.

I hope he’s paying attention to radical Islam. I only chart his progress in the same area the Daily Mail does. He definitely fails the fact check on the Crusades.

I will be watching for the reaction of the Holy Father to Obama’s words.

Too, a lot of negative terms can be proscribed to those who back abortion such as Obama. He should be a bit careful of being holier than thou.

That said, I do see why to an extent, one doesn’t want to generalize about Islam as there is a risk of some acting on their own which we should not.

Those who put out this kind of argument seem to forget too, that history includes the Moors invading Spain and Portugal and occupying it for 700 years. I don’t think it was an overly oppressive regime, I really don’t know but this is being somewhat selective in history per where Obama is concerned.

More will die today in the nations obortuaries than died in the entire 400 year run of the inquisition.
