My local paper had a story of how 20 OWS protesters were arrested over the week-end for camping out on public park and violating the curfew that has been in place for the park.
One of the protesters, a young woman of 19 years of age, said that she will do it again in order to get the message out.
With that I had to ask myself, what sort of wisdom and live experience does a 19 year old have, that the rest of society should be following?
This woman hasn’t even held a job long enough to compare to those who worked to provide her and her peers their educations and standard of living that is still better than most of the world.
Don’t get me wrong, I understand the messagea against corporate and political greed, but it doesn’t require shutting down the city to get the message out further.
It reminded me of the 60’s protest where students took over universities to protest what the universities taught.
I thought being a student meant you were still in the learning process, not an expert on issues of life?
Anyway, the OWS seems to be on the down turn, as mayors in the various cities have had about enough and want the areas cleaned up before the Christmas shopping season begins.
