Honest politician…the quintessential oxymoron.
Re this article…biased much?I find it hard to believe that HC,et all on the Dems side are more truthful than any of the Republicans…yeah, right:rolleyes:
No, I’m not biased. I checked the facts for myself. Anyone can do that.

When I checked the facts reported, the Clintons proved to be more honest than some Republicans I won’t name. But the point isn’t that one party is more honest than the other. It’s that we really can’t trust anyone in politics to be honest with us, and we should be able to do that.
But yet you trust the Clintons, Obama, Sanders? I think you need to actually educate yourself on the issues prior to making statements here.

I didn’t say I trusted anyone in politics. You quoted a statement from me in which I said I didn’t trust anyone.

Actually, when I had a long layover at an airport, I did check all the facts reported, and Sanders, the Clintons, and Obama showed, through their statements, that they are the most honest.

My layover was from 10:00 am to 10:00 pm, and I couldn’t eat and shop all the time. I got a lot of fact checking done in about twelve hours, minus time for lunch and dinner and browsing in a bookstore.

I check the facts myself so I know I’m getting the truth and not something slanted. It’s the only way to know.
I would have to think there is something lacking in your “fact checking” process. Considering Hillary has been publically dishonest since the Nixon administration…just saying.

Oh really? Do tell. Provide us the other examples of cabinet members, politicians, or even military members who run private servers for proprietary government emails, or ones who send and receive classified data with the markings stripped off. I am sure for anyone minimizing this issue they are rife with examples.
Collin Powell did use a laptop and personal email for houskeeping stuff, but he exclusively used a secure Govt computer for all access to sensitive, confidential or secret information. Collin didn’t put sensitive information at risk.

The media leaves this fact out of their ***Tu Quoque ***whitewash narrative.

Lily, for someone who claims not support Hillary, and claims to be “above the fray” you do seem to spend an inordinate amount of time looking for ways to defend her.
:sad_yes:

I heard a representative this morning on the news (can’t remember who he was), say that he had seen the top secret emails and that there were indeed information that would be harmful to operatives of this country and that in the hands of China, Russia, etc. would put them in harms way. Did anyone else see this?

Official: Some Clinton emails ‘too damaging’ to release

By Catherine Herridge, Pamela K. Browne
January 29, 2016 FoxNews.com

EXCLUSIVE: The intelligence community has deemed some of Hillary Clinton’s emails “too damaging" to national security to release under any circumstances, according to a U.S. government official close to the ongoing review. A second source, who was not authorized to speak on the record, backed up the finding.

The determination was first reported by Fox News, hours before the State Department formally announced Friday that seven email chains, found in 22 documents, will be withheld “in full” because they, in fact, contain “Top Secret” information.

The State Department, when first contacted by Fox News about withholding such emails Friday morning, did not dispute the reporting – but did not comment in detail. After a version of this report was first published, the Obama administration confirmed to the Associated Press that the seven email chains would be withheld. The department has since confirmed those details publicly…
The State Dept did not use the word “damaging”. That term is inflammatory and was selected to get a reaction. Political mud slinging.

Did you know that the details and protocols of state dinners, etc are secured information? Don’t want ISIL to know how these things are arranged and handled. With that info, ISIL could off most of the white house and congressional leadership in one bombing. For all we know, Mrs. Clinton was emailing her husband about what they were going to wear to a state dinner and in those emails they also discussed secured info such as their locations, when they were going to be picked up, who made up their detail, who was going to be at their table, etc.

Or maybe, just maybe, she picked up the wrong phone and sent a State Dept email from her personal address. Let’s kill her now with a storm of mean spirited commentary for making a mistake. Let’s judge her now because God knows for sure that none of us have ever made a mistake. None of us have ever sent a work email from our personal addresses and/or vice-a-versa. And for those of us big enough to admit to having done it (like I have, repeatedly), who knows what horrible things we may have exposed our companies/agencies to. Oh my.

Not only that, but how damaging were the lies? Some lies are worse than others. Fibbing about being under sniper fire is not on the same level as lying about national security issues. She appears to lie every time she opens her mouth.

It’s not a couple of emails discussing dinner arrangements. It is thousands of emails with classified and top secret information regarding the security of the US and it’s citizens. Hillary didn’t make a “mistake”, she committed a crime against this country.

What you are missing is that Hillary exclusively used her private email for all such communication, she didn’t have/use a secure device.

Collin Powell had two computers, one Govt PC that was safe to use on all sensitive and secret information, and one laptop that he used for housekeeping stuff, including his personal email. Collin didn’t put national security at risk.

And your argument that some ‘classified’ information may not be damaging is not a defense. It would be impossible for her to do her job without regular access to real sensitive and secret intel, which her aides were obviously sending to her over private email.

What resources do you use to check the facts? How do you check that those sources aren’t in and of themselves biased?

No one who’d appear on the news has seen them. I don’t doubt someone said that, but he was lying. If what he said was true, he’d now be making his way out of the country a la Edward Snowden.

I would have thought you’d remember the name of anyone who said that. I know I would and I don’t even care about the emails.

What was she dishonest about then? Reagan was president when I was born.

You are free to make up stories as you see fit to defend your buddy, but in reality (not your made up possibilities), what we do know is there was information considered above a Top Secret, Sensitive Compartmented Information.

Again, (1) “Top Secret” shall be applied to information, the unauthorized disclosure of which reasonably could be expected to cause exceptionally grave damage to the national security.

Classification Levels

Yes, let’s leave information with grave impact to security and individuals’ lives on an unsecured server.

I’m surprised she wasn’t uploading pics from CIA Black Sites to Instagram & SnapChat while she was at it.
