It’s not a couple of emails discussing dinner arrangements. It is thousands of emails with classified and top secret information regarding the security of the US and it’s citizens. Hillary didn’t make a “mistake”, she committed a crime against this country.
I guess almost 50% of the Democrats in Iowa who voted don’t care. One thing for sure, Clinton’s base is probably the most loyal of any.

Horton, please stop acting like I’m her champion. I don’t even like her. Will not vote for her. I’ve stated that many times.

Thanks.

After the difference in the way the votes were counted in Iowa between the D and R I have little faith left in that process also. Two days to count the votes?

I dismissed that source because it contained something untrue. Even the FBI said the emails were unclassified when they were under Clinton’s control.
I know HRC’s website stated that, but did the FBI actually say they were unclassified? I recall that there was some parsing of words over data being “reclassified”, but I think the NSA and CIA came to a different conclusion.

Is there a source other than Hillary’s website that affirms your conclusion?

I didn’t say I trusted anyone in politics. You quoted a statement from me in which I said I didn’t trust anyone.

Actually, when I had a long layover at an airport, I did check all the facts reported, and Sanders, the Clintons, and Obama showed, through their statements, that they are the most honest. .
:juggle:

Imagine that! Who would have guessed that Sanders, Clintons and Obama are the most honest! Wait a minute, that doesn’t make sense! :nope:

State Department officials also said the agency’s Diplomatic Security and Intelligence and Research bureaus are investigating if any of the information was classified at the time of transmission, going to the heart of Clinton’s defense of her email practices.

I don’t have time to scroll through my posts now for the “unclassified” reference, but if the State Department doesn’t know, probably no one knows.

So I will say, no one knows if they were classified at the time Clinton had them.

Thats OK. 😉
To summarize, we have a situation in which (a) Obama knowingly communicated with Clinton over a non-government, non-secure e-mail system; (b) Obama and Clinton almost certainly discussed matters that are automatically deemed classified under the president’s own guidelines; and (c) at least one high-ranking government official (Petraeus) has been prosecuted because he failed to maintain the security of highly sensitive intelligence that included policy-related conversations with Obama. From these facts and circumstances, we must deduce that it is possible, if not highly likely, that President Obama himself has been grossly negligent in handling classified information. He discussed sensitive matters on a non-government, non-secure e-mail system that could easily be penetrated by foreign governments (among other rogue actors). By doing so, he left an electronic- and paper-trail that was outside the government’s tightly secured repositories for classified information. He also personally indulged, and thus implicitly endorsed, Clinton’s use of private e-mail to do government business. Bear mind mind, the cutesy wording by the State department saying “we have upgraded certain emails” is simply hand waving to fool the masses. If something left unmarked or marked unclassified (the assumption on an unclassified server to begin with) but contained TS/SCI information, of course they upgrade the classification of the email for review and/or release. It was marked wrong to begin with, or not at all!

Otherwise, they are just repeating what was done by Hillary and her staffers.

The State Department could very well
  • Take improperly marked email containing TS/SCI information
  • Slap the correct classification markings on it
  • Say “we’ve upgraded the classification, that ought to fool those rubes who hear about this…”
Never mind their loose use of terms when discussing the matters anyway. Upgrade, downgrade, emails (the whole document) being classified versus their content being classified - all are well defined in various official policy and guidance docs.

Anyone familiar with this sort of thing is rolling their eyes at best, and demanding something serious be done at worst, because people have gone to jail for far less than this. Many a clearance has been lost.

Trying being a President if you can’t hold a clearance (though I suspect they’d find a way around that).

There are so many that are really HEAVY Classified - not just 22 that we heard about but MORE! Then there are all the other classified emails but the HEAVY type are above and beyond her claiming “they weren’t marked coming or going” - what an insipid, lame, sorry excuse for someone to try and wiggle out of responsibility.

Hilary is a great example of a Democrat candidate. A Socialist is another. How

My post wasn’t directed at you Lily.

You are acting as her champion. You keep making the claim that she is one of the most honest politicians in the country and so far have not be able to offer credible sources for your claims.

The problem is some folks will completely disregard the truth about Hillary because they buy into the lies of the government. Some folks just aren’t capable of understanding the issue or the history of the US government. And some folks will dismiss the issue because it just doesn’t fit their agenda of how they believe things should be.

There is a reason much of Sanders popularity is in the below 30 crowd, they just don’t know enough about the US government to make an informed choice.

You quoted me, Horton, so I assumed it was directed at me.

I didn’t make the claim that she was honest; I posted a link showing she was more honest than other presidential candidates and some presidents.

I’m not a fan of Hillary Clinton, I just don’t believe she’s as dishonest as some think.

As someone who worked in PR, and still does in a small way, I think Clinton should just say, “I made a terrible mistake, and I’m sorry.”

Did you know that the details and protocols of state dinners, etc are secured information? Don’t want ISIL to know how these things are arranged and handled. With that info, ISIL could off most of the white house and congressional leadership in one bombing. For all we know, Mrs. Clinton was emailing her husband about what they were going to wear to a state dinner and in those emails they also discussed secured info such as their locations, when they were going to be picked up, who made up their detail, who was going to be at their table, etc.
Or maybe, just maybe, she picked up the wrong phone and sent a State Dept email from her personal address. Let’s kill her now with a storm of mean spirited commentary for making a mistake. Let’s judge her now because God knows for sure that none of us have ever made a mistake. None of us have ever sent a work email from our personal addresses and/or vice-a-versa. And for those of us big enough to admit to having done it (like I have, repeatedly), who knows what horrible things we may have exposed our companies/agencies to. Oh my.

See - I did NOT quote you, so my post was NOT directed at you. It really isn’t all about you Lily. Report me if you must.

Bolding mine - She did not make a “terrible mistake”, she broke the law and violated her oath of office. A mistake would be a couple of emails, not thousands.
