How do you think someone can work to change it within the Dem party? Some folks, Dems, in Congress have tried that and failed and IMO they are in a better place to change that than those of us outside the body of government.

I guess because they don’t want the top 2% of Americans to receive more tax breaks while the vast middle class, whose finances are already strained, would see their taxes raised with any GOP candidate.

But this is a a thread about Clinton’s emails. No news on that. Guess there is no “smoking gun.”

I don’t know Democratic talking points. I’m not a Democrat.

I shouldn’t even be on political threads, I’m a French woman.

I’m not a Democrat either, but I know the party line. The difference is, I don’t espouse them.

At the very least you shouldn’t claim republicans are going to raise taxes on the middle class if you cannot back it up. If a republican was making such a proposal it certainly would be well worth bringing up, but if they didn’t I am not sure why you brought it up.

Not tolerant of Christians who want to practice their faith in the public square. Shut them up in their churches. Separation of church and state. It’s in the Constitution!! 😛

You are right; they just think that the government owes them. Like free junior college education, just to pick one of the more recent ones.

There are Democrat pro life members of Congress, but you can bet your last dollar that if the party has a choice in the next local election to support the incumbent, or to run someone in opposition to them who is pro abortion, they are going to take a very long look at the pro abortion candidate; and if they think that one can’t win, they will think long and hard about how much enthusiasm and money they put into the pro life candidate’s run.

In any area which is not strongly pro life, a litmus test to run as a Democrat will be abortion, by the party, by those who fund the party and fund individuals, and the voters.

The problem is, the middle class is and always has been a myth. Nobody really knows what the middle class is.

Okay them, the shrinking middle class, the poor, the Hispanic-Americans, the African-Americans, feminists. All those are among Clinton’s very loyal base.

I would rather not see her win the nomination because I think she would certainly win the presidency, and I don’t want that. She said something at the NH Town Hall meeting that alone would put me off her if I supported her, which I do not. She said they would keep the ACA. I hate, loathe, and despise the ACA. Will not vote for anyone who supports it. People making up to $47,000/year can receive subsidies. That’s ridiculous. They can pay for their own insurance. But Clinton doesn’t think so. Ridiculous! It can be done. I paid for health insurance when I was a student with very little money. People have to stop looking for a free ride. I’d rather have a Republican who will make it a priority to get rid of the ACA. And, it beyond stupid for nuns to have to pay for some of the things they have to pay for in the ACA.

I believe in health insurance for all, but the ACA is not the right thing.

Economists have had a fairly clear definition of it for a very long time.

Most of which doesn’t have a lot to do with Hilary…
