…A secret order authorized by the court that oversees the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act focused on work done by a cluster of Washington consulting firms form Ukraine’s former ruling party, CNN reported, citing sources.

The surveillance stopped because of lack of evidence but the FBI restarted it again this year after the court obtained a warrant extending into this year, according to CNN…

This was from CNN. I’m just wondering about it.

And it’s more than a little funny that Trump supporters are celebrating the revelation that Trump hired a truly shady character to run his campaign.
This sounds like you are judging…

The surveillance stopped because of lack of evidence
Did you see this part? Also, anything strike you as “funny” about the FBI picking it back up during an election??? Think about it…

Did you see this part?
And did you miss the part where they restarted the surveillance?

Manafort and Flynn are going to sing like canaries.

The warrants were legal, sure. But done under the aegis of FISA. I have some truly serious reservations about the unconstitutional nature of that law. Whatever happened to going through normal courts and using gag orders with expiration dates or milestones on them? We are, after all, supposed to be able to confront our accusers. Not to mention it’s highly suspicious that the warrants were renewed during the campaign.

I did not attack you. I showed you your own statements… Sorry if I offended you.

Manafort and Flynn are going to sing like canaries.
I doubt that they will. The can count on a pardon for federal crimes.
The more interesting twists ill come from prosecutors in New York, like Preet Bharara.

Deep down, the DNC is scared of a full-on Russia investigation because it could prove that they rigged the primary against Sanders as well as other unsavvy connections on their end.

It’s highly suspicious that warrants to have a campaign director against whom warrants are executable during a campaign. FISA is the court that you go to for someone suspected as acting as an agent of a foreign government - something both Flynn and Manafort stipulated to, albeit a bit late in the game.

Oh what fun! Here’s one:

Deep down, US oil interests are scared of a full-on Russia investigation because it could prove that they conspired with Russia in a disinformation campaign to obscure the truth about AWG.

I think my fantasy is more plausible than yours.

You are wrong about that. Expect Manafort to be indicted.
Perhaps in your fantasy world, but not in reality. He had been of interest to the FBI since 2014.
Also expect the media to do everything they can to tie this to Trump even though, as you point out, there was interest in him long before his stint with Trump

Preet Bahara is no longer with the justice department. I think you might mean ny ag Eric Schneiderman (sp ?)

Old narrative: Trump is crazy to think he was wiretapped.

New narrative: Trump totally deserved to be wiretapped.

So, now we know Trump was right, at least in this instance. One wonders how many more of these there are.

I agree Manafort will be indicted by Mueller, but not for colluding with Russia to influence the campaign. It will be for something else not related to the campaign. That’s how “independent counsels” work. They are appointed with one supposed mandate, but what they actually do is pour millions into concocting a prosecution against some parallel person or persons. Mueller will also indict Flynn.

It’s remarkable that people don’t realize what a miscarriage of justice these appointments are. Maybe Flynn is guilty of something and maybe he isn’t. But it will cost millions to defend him because your taxes and mine will, in their millions, be used to find a way to prosecute him.

Americans ought to realize how little chance they have if the government wants to nail them.

One of the families is trying to raise money because of the high legal fees.
I agree that more than likely Mueller will find something to indict Manafort and Flynn with his team of lawyers.
Earlier this summer I heard Mueller predict the investigation would be completed by the end of summer and now I hear it might take a year and a half.
