I would argue that it is not necessarily so that young people looking for a spouse have the “Focus” because what I experienced from the age of 28 to 32 (I met my wife at 32 and got married at 34) was that if you were a teenager or in your early twenties there was literally dozens of girls to ask out that were age appropriate. This is due to confirmation classes and youth ministry. Not so in your late 20s or 30s. Women that age hardly go to Mass at all.
Granted that half my parish is Spanish speaking so that limited the number of women I could talk to since I do not speak Spanish. But the only English speaking women I ever met at my parish were married or already in relationships. It was frustrating.
I resorted to online dating and found my wife on Catholic match. You can try that, however I will cautious that I have talked to a lot of women on those dating sites and women in their twenties and thirties do not like to be sent messages by men old enough to be their dad’s. I am not saying you would do that but I noticed from the forums on catholimatch that a lot of older men who do not have children seem to go after young women maybe in hopes of having children.
Anyways, I can sympathize with your frustrations. Catholic dating definitely is hard.
