You are showing your ignorance again. Ratko Mladic waged war in Bosnia, and we are talking about Kosovo, not Bosnia. And even Ratko Mladic was not condemned for war crime of genocide.
But who is going to judge US generals and politicians for their genocides and crimes? Maybe North Korea with it’s nukes. xD

You are underestimating the North Korean People, they are not the push-overs like the Serbs or Libyans. Their population values personal and national (collective) honor very highly, and they are very intelligent. They actually have space program even though they cant do almost any trade. They might even end up nuking your cities if you keep poking them. lol

we are talking about Kosovo
You may wish - however ironically in light of your allusion to the ruling of the UN’s ICJ - to restrict the conversation to a slice of what was happening in the Balkans at that time to further some argument. But you don’t make the rules of conversaton.
Ratko Mladic was not condemned for war crime of genocide
He was.

And then there are the alia, the other 83 convicted of war crimes in that conflict.

Serbs are such pushovers, first they tried to resist US imperialism, thinking US wasn’t serious enough. And when Serbs got few bombs dropped on them, they immediatelly year after arrested all their generals that defended them against the Muslims and others, and all their politicians and sold them out to the Hag Tribunal that was interested only in sentencing Serbs to approve US imperialist actions in the region, and not sentence the war criminals of Muslims, Croats and all others involved.
Even to this day they are begging to be US friends, even though US bombed Serbia with depleted uranium poisoning the country and destroyed the country’s economy with bombs and sanctions. lol
Libyans are even worse push overs.
North Koreans are not push overs, they will rather starve or all die in a nuclear war, but will not surrender. Or they can just wait that South Korean population gets wiped out by low fertility rate that the South Koreans got by trying to copy American life style.

If you forgot, let me remind you. First you said Russia violated international law by invading Ukraine. Trying to act like US has a moral high ground over Russia. Then i reminded you that US did the same to Serbia by allying with local Albanian terrorists, who were even recognized by the US government as terrorists, And then you lost it.

Technically it was NATO, and it’s well they did. But really what Russia is doing in Ukraine is more than invasion, it’s just a slower form of what was done in Crimea; annexation. And that is a violation of international law, in fact the most basic violation.

Not quite. I spoke to the criminality of Russia’s territorial conquest. The US has not annexed territory from Serbia.

First of all, we all know NATO does US’s bidding. Second, what US/NATO did to Serbia was also violation of international law. It was an aggression against sovereign nation without the approval of the UN Security Council. Don’t talk about international law if you are going to cherry pick it.
Russia at least did not bomb Ukraine with over 1000 airplanes. USA did that to Serbia. And it was not well, US created Kosovo, a lair of crime and radical Islam. 50% of Kosovo’s population is unemployed, most of them survive by selling and smugglering drugs, and some go to fight for the Islamic State. And all that is fine as long as they keep US military base in Kosovo, which is also against UN Resolution, because UN was allowed to occupy Kosovo after the war, not the US.

You don’t have to annex territory to break the international law. US installed it’s military base in Kosovo without UN approval. To break the international law, all you need to do is to bomb the country without UN approval, and when you do that with depleted uranium bombs, then you just add that little twisted moment.

There is a specific UN treaty that has outlawed annexation of territory by conquest.
The case against Russia is unambiguous. The wariness of Russia’s neighbors is based in the history of Russia to the present regime. All the whatboutism in the world does not change that or rationalize it. And that is why NATO has expanded.

NATO has been expending since 1992, even though US signed treaty with Russia, promising that former Warsaw pact members will not become NATO members. And when US overthrew Yanukovich in Ukraine, Russia protected it’s strategic positions in Crimea. NATO spread from Poland to Ukraine, i am not surprised that Russia reacted.
Also, Crimea was part of the Russia until 1960s, when Soviet dictator Khrushchev gave Crimea to Ukraine, because he was Ukrainian, he just signed a paper and voalla.

Also, there is special UN treaty that forbids aggression against Sovereign Nations without UN approval.

In early February 1990, U.S. leaders made the Soviets an offer. According to transcripts of meetings in Moscow on Feb. 9, then-Secretary of State James Baker suggested that in exchange for cooperation on Germany, U.S. could make “iron-clad guarantees” that NATO would not expand “one inch eastward.” Less than a week later, Soviet President Mikhail Gorbachev agreed to begin reunification talks. No formal deal was struck, but from all the evidence, the quid pro quo was clear: Gorbachev acceded to Germany’s western alignment and the U.S. would limit NATO’s expansion.

If you have the time, and no life, check the transcripts for yourself.

Here’s a list of some Old Money families in the USA. There are many rich families; however, the older ones have stood the test of time. I would also add the Bush, Koch, Walton, and Mars families. Every country has their elites who run politics. Occasionally, aspiring politicians or businessmen can get into the upper sphere of influence; however, that could end poorly if you’re not careful.

So no treaty. And, in particular no treaty with Russia. Glad that that has been corrected.

It is an interesting posture to take that a statement made by a US SoS about expansion of NATO positions within Germany, in the aftermath of that countries re-unification, was somehow a pledge - no, a treaty - regarding what NATO would do upon the - at that time scarcely imaginable - collapse of the Soviet Union and the liberation of the captive nations. Fascinating.

By the way, it is good form to cite articles that you “quote”.

These nations were no longer “captive” and NATO kept pushing against it’s promise. If you break promises and keep popping bases closer and closer to Russia, don’t be surprised if Russia retaliates, they are not push-overs you usually deal with.

And Russia cannot allow it-self to trust oath-breaking NATO that goes around bombing nations without UN approval.
