For myself on my way home, our Blessed Mother was somewhat of a stumbling block. The main issue I had was praying the Hail Mary, the Hail Holy Queen and the Assumption and Coronation Mysteries in the Rosary.
Once I understood that praying to her, remember pray in the archaic sense of the word is to ask; wasn’t idolatrous; all my Marian problems went away and I took to our Blessed Mother naturally as my spiritual mother in heaven.
As for the Immaculate Conception, I really don’t have any problems with it.
Let’s think about it.
Would God the Father want His Son to be born through a sinful woman?
No. That wouldn’t make sense. The vessel of His Incarnation would logically have to be pure and sinless.
Thus, God preserved her from Original Sin.
Now, this doesn’t mean that Our Lady couldn’t sin if she willed. It only means that she wasn’t wounded with concupiscence that would blind and darken her intellect and constantly tug at her toward sin as it does you, me and anybody else but Jesus.
Here’s something else to think about that proves my point: Adam and Eve were born without Original Sin. Look what happened to them.
