The previous Republican governor won with 62% and 67% in his elections.
Trump won MS by 17.8% in 2016.
This was intriguingly close for such a dark red state.
 
I think it applied to our last President, and the nominees from the Democratic party. And?

Not sure your point, or where that gets Catholics and Americans in the real world. If the application of Catholicism in people’s live allows for polar opposite real-world beliefs and actions, it means someone is definitely wrong, or Catholicism is useless.
 
Oh yes it was a nailbitter! NOT.
Romney won MS by 11.5% in 2012, McCain won MS by 13.5% in 2008. Trump did just fine in MS in 2016 winning by 17.8%.
 
this is what we get when we vote democrat

let’s not kid ourselves that we are voting for something else

abortion until and now even after birth
forced participation in transgenderism
anti-christian politics (but pro-Islam)
identity politics
cheap and readily available contraception
contraception mandated insurance (little sisters of the poor)
homosexuality, you must agree with their same-sex agenda
they now want to force churches to marry ss couples
break the seal of the confessional
allow tax paid abortions
religious test for supreme court judges
etc.

I have no problem with with major Republican strong hold dropping to single digit margins, or your thinking that that is fine.

it kinda reiterates how the GOP doesn’t have to lie about their history.
 
So God divinely inspired the founding of the US? did He do the same for all nations?

With Trump in the White House our country, divinely inspired by God, is already unrecognizable. If he wins re-election I, too, will be scared and saddened for your children and grandchildren - and everyone else’s.

Trump? Our country began being divided under Obama and since President Trump
was elected, the democrats have only worked 24 hours a day 7 days a week to keep the country divided.
 
I was referring to Founding Fathers’ and their prescience in constructiong the Constitution.That came from Divine Inspiration.
The Dems would like nothing more to dismantle and reconfigure or Constitution…

I don’t believe God was any more involved in founding the US than any other country.

I’m not an American exceptionalist though

Does the Church teach that God could be more involved in the founding of one country over another?
 
Don’t conflate my comments I said that the FF were divinely guided in constructing out Constitution. Period.

It’s worse than that. Virginia may be the state to ratify the ERA, which would legalize abortions making Roe vs Wade irrelevant.

Just going to say here, that I’m fairly certain this country isn’t divinely inspired by God.

Evidence? I’m fairly certain the sheer size of our military industrial complex, our world record incarceration rate, how we ignore the 36 times in the Torah in which God commanded us to treat immigrants precisely as we treat citizens, and, of course, the clincher, Calvin Coolidge.
 
The Constitution was Divinely guided. This country was founded on an idea that idea being everything written out within the Constitution. Man’ concupicience ,love and lust for power etc. has gotten n the way clearly. God has been removed in almost every possible way ,so yeah we cannot expect God to bless us if we reject His very being
