I am aware of the legal battles going on in schools with the gay right movement and it is troublesome to me.

We lift up to you all the politicians in Ontario and we ask that you send your Holy Spirit to guide and purify their thinking about homosexuality. Lead them to recognize the value of family life, with one mother and one father, and that the foundation of a healthy society is a healthy family. For the sake of the children in Ontario, Lord, remove those politicians who obstinately refuse to accept this truth, and replace them with those who do. Amen.

Actually, the Catholic school system in Ontario (from what I have garnered) is funded by those who specify on their property taxes which school board they wish to support (if it is not specified their monies would go to the public board rather than a separate board, i.e., Catholic schools).

Absolutely true.Half the kids in my son’s high school are not Catholic but attendance at school masses is compulsory and while they don’t receive the Eucharist most come up for the Blessing.Quite a few have converted.Their parents choose to send them there for the superior education and discipline.All must wear a school uniform and piercings other than ears, rolled up kilts and bizarre haircuts are not allowed.I got a call from the Principal because my son spiked his brushcut with gel.I couldn’t see a problem with it but I don’t make up the rules and he LOVES it there.
Every Family Catholic or not must designate that the property tax must go to the separate board if they wish to attend…,

There is always a choice, especially for the Church.
These Catholic schools, if they want to keep their name, should openly defy in order to keep to the teachings of the Church. If the schools are closed, at least they closed for the sake of integrity. They must be for the Church first, and follow the teachings of the world only if it does not interfere with the teachings of the Church.
Remember what the martyrs suffered for even the smallest parts of Catholic doctrine. Ontario can’t do much to these Catholic schools, but these Catholic Schools must fight for the free excercise rights for Catholicism.

Its sad to say but you do have a point.
If these Catholic Schools were funded solely by Catholic coffers you wouldn’t even see the present scenario with the Ontario Premier dictating gay clubs in Catholic Schools partially funded by governmental coffers.
Heck; don’t expect governments to be a model of Christian morality.
Its a good thing local Catholic Churches aren’t partly funded by government coffers.

Think about this statement: “Bill is homosexual because he has homosexual attractions.” You have two items here: homosexual identity and homosexual attraction. Homosexual identity is a conscientious choice. Homosexual attractions are not a conscientious choice. This one word has two contradictory underlying characteristics. Therefore one word “homosexual” (or “gay”) cannot be used to accurately teach any form of truth on this matter, unless there are clarifiers to describe which meaning of the word “homosexual” (or “gay”) it is. McGuinty’s legislation does not allow for this, and therefore is promoting a point of view in which corruption of logic and truth will forever be embedded. Human beings have free will, but this choice to disengage from embracing the identity of “homosexual” is the most threatening of all things to the movement that is forcing GSAs into schools. The motives of GSAs are so far removed from bullying - if they allowed people to discover what the Catholic Church actually teaches with regards to homosexuality and dignity of the whole human being, then the world would be a different place; a place where people who experience same-sex attraction would know they are loved and welcomed in the Catholic Church, as equally beloved children of God (who may in fact experience same-sex attraction - an acknowledgment that is required for a person to be honest with themselves). GSAs and other like groups do not love a person enough to inform of them of their capacity to exercise free will to choose the identity by which they are able to define themselves, thus forcing people who do not want to identify as homosexual people, into the identity of being “homosexual”, because they are deprived from the knowledge of having any other option. Thus, the pro-homosexual movement is advancing a great deception, and now you know why. It is nothing less than pure deception, and anyone who refuses to acknowledge the necessity of clarifying the very word “homosexual” itself, is also partaking in that deception, by embedding concepts and language that are incapable of reflecting truth, due to the intrinsic contradiction contained within.
Personal Opinion: The non-education of this topic will lead to the illegalization of the Catholic Church in the western world. I thought I read the Church teaches homosexual acts are intrinsically disordered etc. but the PERSON had sacred worth and as such should be treated with compassion, respect and dignity. I sure don’t see that here in many respects. Didn’t someone say “homosexuality is against Church teaching?” Exactly how when the Church admits SSA is beyond a person’s control?
Questions like “why don’t we have a shoplifter’s club or bestiality club?” are hardly seem
respectful either.
However, this is all about a tempest in a teapot. I don’t think you can “convince” anyone to be Gay by have a club, nor is it likely that even very many kids will go to them. If high school today is anything like it was when I went, announcing your sexual preference would be anathema! And the timid, confused souls who probably most need support would be the least likely of all to go!
