I can’t believe the testimony today. The girlfriend testifies that Martin referred to Zimmerman with the N word and as a creepy *** cracker. Then she admits that her first interview with prosecutors was in the presence of Martins mother and the Martin’s family attorney Mr Crump and that she edited her statement because his mother was present. Then we get a tape back of that interview where she is asked a question by the prosecution and instead of answering the actual question she says “you want that too?” implying that she is being coached.

And so much for claims that her English isn’t adequate to understand the lawyers because she testified that it was good, that she understood everything the defense attorney asked her the day before and today and that she grew up speaking English from childhood along with Creole and Spanish and that she was born and raised in Miami. She also said cracker and the N word are commonly used by the people she knows.

She also testified that she doesn’t know who threw the first punch when cross examined bty Zimmerman’s attorney.
She also could not read back to them a letter she claimed she had written Martins Mom.

Wait, I thought Martin hadn’t any bruised knuckles and/or evidence of offensive actions? That’s why Zimmerman’s claim of an attack doesn’t seem likely. Is that what you understand or am I mistaken from the trial/reports? I’m curious as to your opinion on the fact that they didn’t find evidence of Zimmerman’s blood on the sidewalk. Even though it was raining, there still would’ve been residue on the microscopic level.
This is one of the major inconsistencies in his story pointed out to him by the police. If Martin was pounding his head against the sidewalk in the manner he described then he would have had skull fractures, a concussion, and bruising instead of just two superficial lacerations.

And you know this how?

I don’t think that’s necessarily true. My son recently had a seizure in a parking lot and landed very hard on his head. He was pretty torn up but had no fractures.

Zimmerman claimed that his head was repeatedly bashed against the pavement. His injuries don’t match that claim; something pointed out to him by the investigators.

Does anyone know of any news outlets that are talking about this without so much emotion?
I want to let the justice system run it’s course, but all the talking heads I see lack any kind of journalistic integrity. I’m just looking for disinterested analysis.

I’m happy to hear your son had no fractures. I hope he’s doing ok.
I would assume he probably had medical attention to determine no fractures were present.

Did Zimmerman seek medical attention for his head injury?

And you know this how?
Anyone with a head injury as such needs medical attention; he never received any outside the police handling this was my understanding.

I could stand corrected if wrong.
He showed up at work the next day according to the prosecution; the defense says he went to work to tell them he couldn’t come in.

Once again, It’s a HORRIFYING event all the way around no matter “what side of the fence you are on.”

Mary.

.
So the police abused Zimmerman by denying him medical attention when they took him into custody?

Still I’m not not giving my personal opinion on this case.

I do not believe that Zimmerman will be convicted however. I will be quite surprised if he is.

The witness is 19…is in year 12…and cannot read or write cursive…is this possible in an American school in 2013???

He needed no medical attention, thus his injuries must not have appeared very serious.

No sure they exist…

You can always watch the actual trial video online. There is no slant to that coverage.

At the moment I have the same feeling, but that may change once the Defense presents their side.

Yes, the paramedics took him to the ER. It was very scary but he’s OK now.
I haven’t heard that Zimmerman received medical attention but I could be wrong. If he DIDN’T, somebody should had made him go. Head injuries are nothing to mess with!

Get used to this nonsense. Schools across America have stopped making students write in cursive, some have even stopped teaching it altogether. We will have an entire generation of kids that can’t read the Constitution.

This was a huge reason why I pulled my kids out to homeschool. My son got a birthday card and couldn’t read it because it was in cursive. And my kids attended a supposedly top notch school system. But they briefly taught cursive in third grade and never made the kids use it after that so most kids don’t use it.

Did you read what the paramedics wrote about his injuries?

Fwiw, Headline news is playing the entire trial. There is some periodic biased commentary, but most of it is just straight trial coverage. I’m watching it right now. The annoying, biased talking heads start coming out in the evening, but it’s pretty safe during the day when the trial is going on.

It was a very uncomfortable and embarrassing moment when she admitted that she didn’t read cursive. And, it also hurt her credibility quite a bit. Even though she isn’t on trial, the prosecution’s “star witness” did not make herself look at all positive on the stand. Her attitude, her eye-rolls, her snippy responses at times, her admissions, did not aid the prosecution.
