This girl’s parents really should have had her dress up a little to go to court. I mean thousands of people are watching this. . . . 😦
 
It looks to me like Zimmerman initiated the confrontation and then found himself on the losing end of a fight at which point he pulls out his gun and kills Martin.

Sounds like second degree to me.

They really should have made sure she had her story straight when she first started talking. She doesn’t sound very reliable when she changes her story every time she tells it. 🤷

Sounds like you have no familiarity with the actual facts of the case and haven’t listened to any of the testimony.

I only saw a bit of the cross this morning. She is 19 now (I thought she was 16 when the shooting happened?) Parts of her story kept changing. And apparently Trayvon’s mother was present during her questioning by police, which taints her credability (according to the trial lawyers who were tweeting along with the video)

So far from the little bit I’ve had time to read, it looks like the prosecution is doing a horrible job. There are jokes that the prosecution is going to ask for the judge to order their witness to stick to the prescribed storyline, because they are helping Zimmerman.

One witness actually testified that she heard three gun shots (must have been an echo) and two of the “eye witnesses” admitted that they formed their opinions of what happened after seeing the photoshopped pic of Trayvon when he was like 12.
 
Her credibility was pretty much shot this morning. They presented her with a letter she claimed have written to Trevons parents explaining in detail what she had heard on the phone. The defense gave her a copy of the letter and asked her to read it out loud. She couldn’t. She said she can’t read cursive.
 
To me, Rachel Jeantel seems to be a real liability for the prosecution, but who knows how the jury is seeing all this.

She lied about her age. :rolleyes:

And she lied about why she didn’t attend the funeral.

Hmmm, I wonder what else she has lied about. 😉

There are people sitting in the courtroom reporting just on the jury reactions. They apparently know all sorts of details about these people, including if they have kids, what ages, etc.

I’m not sure the age thing was her fault, probably media misinformation that noone bothered to fix. Kind of like the 12 yr old Trayvon pic that still gets put up with some media coverage.

Jeantel has come under fire in the past for lying about her age – claiming to be 16 in order, she said, to avoid getting dragged into the case. She also admitted lying about her reasons for not attending Martin’s funeral, saying she was in the hospital. In her testimony, she said she didn’t go because she felt guilty.

Maybe she is dressed up compared to her normal attire.

Nor do I. She has changed her story a few times. Also, the fact that she couldn’t read the letter that she claimed she wrote because it was written in cursive doesn’t make her look credible at all. Her testimony was that a friend helped her write the letter, but even so, I question credibility.
