I don’t think the trial established Trayvon was a thug messing with weaker people. All it proved was that the jury found George ZImmerman was not guilty of murder.

I thought there was a black on the jury too, like you… but on analysis I heard today, now I don’t think there was a black jurist.

I will pray for you. That you will realize that many do not view everything in terms of race. That verdicts, decisions and disagreements can have nothing to do with race at all. That, truly, for many race doesn’t even enter into the equation. God bless and heal you.

Thank you for the the prayer.

I do view this in terms of race because I happen to be half black and I have been stopped by the police for nothing more more than being a non white person in a white town.

I try not to see trough the lens of race in my daily life, heck I am one those those people who can pass for anything outside of white or black.

I honestly cannot see this trial going the other way, If Zimmerman was a quote unquote black man shooting and killing a white 17 year old. I doubt the outcome would be the same.

I honestly never felt that I would be come so emotionality involved in a case outside my neck of the woods. But this as grabbed my attention because I can see myself in Trayvon Martins shoes.

I am sorry for my haste in name calling but I do believe all things fair and color blind a whole bunch of people would be calling this the other way. 🤷

You had a similar case in Arizona, a black shooting a white Hispanic type. That’s why I think the media, some particular sources drummed this story up.

So, yes, roles have been reversed and from what I know, a trial did not even happen.

To be fair, my Dad and Mom grew up on Chicago’s south side and moved away to get away from racism/inner city strife in general. I grew up in a suburb where truly race wasn’t a factor. I worked in a job where racism is absolutely prohibited. The downside, is because true racism is foreign to my experience, I may not see it where it truly exists. I have to admit that about myself.

I am afraid if there is rioting though, it will be cast as a ‘black’ riot- the damage, pain, suffering attributed to blacks. I don’t think that will be true. If it’s like the Rodney King riots, I well remember black pastors and their congregations initially holding peaceful candle-light vigils. It quickly deteriorated into mayhem-- not by blacks. It was every color/nationality criminal trying to exploit the situation. Looting involved every background, opportunists of every color.

Well, according to Zimmerman’s testimony, he was sucker punched by Trayvon and had his nose broken, and then Martin got on top of him and started acting out his MMA dreams and pounding Zimmerman’s head on the concrete “Ground n’ Pound” style (this second part was supported by eye-witness testimony).

I don’t even want to get into Trayvon’s past, there’s no point, it’s now all over, but I wouldn’t make him out to be the angel which the media has done, I don’t think calling him a thug (or at least a growing thug) is too far off.

All of the six members are women. Five are white, one is Hispanic. The four alternates include two women and two men, all of whom are white, but for one male Hispanic.

I pray deeply that there are no riots or violence because of this outcome.

I think all people of every color and creed could just come together and talk openly and just get a basic understanding where each and every one of us is coming from.

This case has just made it clear that race is still an issue in America and will be until we all quit being children and think just because we have a part black president that all we have left is ideological ideas to overcome.

There is racism and bigots on all sides of the racial divides, as soon as quit beating around that bush than maybe and God willing we can get past one of the biggest sins in human history.

(And for the record I hate all races equally 😉 )

There is no evidence for that. If Zimmerman wanted to kill him he could have just shot him from a distance.

But the first and only time the gun was fired was at point-blank range, when Trayvon was on top of him beating his head into the concrete.

That’s your point of view but the trial only found George Zimmerman was not guilty of murder.
 
Prosecution had almost everything going for it… lifelong Dem judge who ruled consistently in prosecution’s favor (refusing to allow Martin’s text messages to be entered as evidence, allowing consideration of lesser charges, etc.), big-shot prosecuting attorneys, widespread media misrepresentation of basic details, etc.

And still they lost. Of course they would. They had no case. Because at no point did Zimmerman do anything legally wrong.

I’d like to think I have equally low regard for the jerks in all races. Good folks and bad folks in every group.

Thank you for your perspective. I feel very sorry for what the Martin’s are going through, I can only imagine the pain of losing a child under these circumstances.

That’s a good question, but one that probably won’t be brought to light since the mainstream media doesn’t want any more egg on their face.
