There was a lot going on behind the scenes and frankly in the spotlight. As you said the race baiters were out in force, the special prosecutor engaged in really egregious conduct. When the original Police Chief failed to bring charges as he could see there was not a winnable case, he was tossed out just as the SP Corey’s former assistant was tossed out after disclosing that SP Corey failed to provide information and falsified the indictment. I have to be wondering what was going on in her head. Dershowitz made the same claims from the outset, this is not Monday Morning quarterbacking. Either she is incredibly incompetent or so arrogant that she didn’t think she’d be caught. I remember her during the initial period being OVERLY slobbery and obsequious with respect to Mr and Mrs Martin. As a prosecutor, she should not have displayed such overt bias toward one side.

BTW I heard an interesting perspective, that while even the Prosecution realized it was not a winnable case, by bringing it to trial by disclosing the information that had been hidden or never disclosed to the public, they were able to prevent this from escalating overnight as it might have.

I noticed many of the signs at the “Justice for Trayvon” protests displayed Socialist Workers insignia and provided support for other Leftist causes, rather than reflecting any objection to the case.

The whole thing was really a tragedy of errors.

it just shows how easily the populace can be manipulated by the left and they don’t even realize how they are being played with. I don’t like that angela cory at all! I hope she is investigated!!

I’ve seen in being displayed in actual rally, I’ve experienced it and am seeing this same thing here on this site being high jacked by pseudo fake Christians.
Like you?
You absolutely have no basis to make that judgement!

Why are so many people “second guessing” the jury on this case?

The jury was fairly chosen by prosecution and defense, and was made up of TWELVE (12) UNBIASED people.

THEY…not everyone with an opinion, or everyone in the street mob heard the facts of the case argued. THEY rendered a verdict.

Why do Americans exhibit so little faith in the jury system? It is far less corruptible than the Triumvirate of Roman Law, for example.

Our President, and our Attorney General (BOTH OF WHOM ARE LAWYERS) should promote respect for our system of justice…not pander to mob emotion.
I agree with what you have said, but I would like to point out that for some reason, this jury was made up of only 6 members. all women.

I am glad you brought this up as it is very important.

You are right. People are allowing themselves to be manipulated and used for political purposes. Facts won’t matter when emotions rule.

Satan is truly the prince of this world.

Or…
there’s a good chance two men would be alive; Z may have stayed in his car.
Because law breakers are free to roam while innocent people cower in their cars and homes?

What does Zimmerman leaving his car have to do with anything? People post that over and over again as if it means something.

Yes! Today she came out and said Zimmerman is a MURDERER…good grief. In doing so she demeaned the system, the jury and the two Prosecutors who frankly did their best with a case built upon sand and apparently a combination of racially motivated huckstering and a woman’s ambition.

I hope she’s disbarred for her egregious behavior…if not her atrocious taste in wardrobe, hairstyle and make up…😃

If the judge was doing her job the prosecutor would have been held in contempt of court for firing an employee for giving truthful testimony. At the very least it is witness tampering.

I think you may have p(name removed by moderator)ointed the main lesson of this tragedy: “armed amateurs playing cop.” Whether racial profiling took place, the attitudes of both Zimmerman and Martin concerning race, who instigated the fatal confrontation between them, while all important to a degree, are secondary issues to the problem of guns in the wrong hands of a hot-tempered non-professional. It might have turned out the other way around, with Trayvon Martin killing George Zimmerman using the latter’s gun, with just as many questions as to the timeline of events and who was to blame. BTW, psychological research has shown time after time that eyewitness testimony is notoriously inaccurate in criminal investigations for a myriad of reasons.
Meltzerboy your statement “armed amateurs playing cop” and “hot tempered non-professional” are not accurate. If anything Zimmerman showed himself to be in control of his emotions. He was clearly frustrated that there had been a lot of crimes in the neighborhood. The Juror who did the interview said they were shocked at the level of crime in the area. But that frustration did not result in his cornering Martin, demanding that he stop, or shooting him for merely acting suspiciously.

Further all of the available evidence including Zimmerman’s injuries, Martin’s autopsy, the various phone calls, and re-enactments indicated that Martin could have gone home or avoided the confrontation. The map showing both of their tracks demonstrate how Martin doubled back to confront Zimmerman. Had he gone home or not confronted Zimmerman, he’d be alive today.

I think your words and your opinion are a result of where you live, your unfamiliarity with guns and CCW. It’s a different world outside of the NYC bubble and your attitude is so foreign to me just as mine and I suspect George Zimmerman’s is to you.

You can dial back and claim it’s Zimmerman’s fault for deciding to go to Target at that particular time as he would not have encountered Martin had he left ten minutes later. But pretty much everything is moot with respect to the DEATH of Martin up to the time when he confronted Zimmerman and I believe attacked him.

Again I TOTALLY understand Martin’s anger, if not rage at Zimmerman’s behavior. But that doesn’t give him license to try to bash the guy’s head in. If ANYONE in this scene demonstrated temper it was Martin, not Zimmerman. And I think his aggressiveness is the proximate cause of his death.

He could have walked into his father’s home. He didn’t

I think the firing came AFTER the verdict although the employee had been placed on leave. Angela Corey is the next one on the dock…or one can hope. She is truly a poor example of what is supposed to be blind justice.

She was shown to have over charged and her tactic failed. She now seems to be retaliating. I am truly curious how she was elected/appointed or got to that level. You would hope that being a prosecutor does not require one to engage in personal vendettas and politics.

Well, we’re over 1000 posts so we’ll see how long this thread goes on.
I thought threads with posts over 1000 were discontinued for technical reasons.
That’s what happened to the other Zimmerman thread if I understood correctly.,
Perhaps they can get around that if they know beforehand that the thread will get so large. I for one won’t look a gift horse in the mouth.

Zimmerman is as white as Obama is…pretty sure no one is noticing that fact. Pray for all involved, and our country!!
Hispanic is an ethnicity not a race. Hispanics are generally considered white.

My thoughts and prayers go out to support the family of Trayvon Martin. God Bless you, Trayvon, and I hope you will find it in your heart to forgive Zimmerman in purgatory. :signofcross:

Coming clash of Obama interest groups. Apparently Jeantel, the gift that keeps on talking, told Piers Morgan that Martin thought Zimmerman might be a “gay rapist” and thus did not want to go home and “lead him” to where his younger brother was staying…The reason he was referred to as a “crazy a** cracka” is that Martin thought Zimmerman, an adult male, might be following him with a sexual encounter in mind. Holy cow…this will be an interesting new take on the whole thing.

Gay groups have not commented
