Because there is NO EVIDENCE SUPPORTING THEM.
You can make up āalternative scenariosā all you want. But when you cannot connect yours and the othersā completely illusory theories with ANY credible evidence, then the theory remains simply the product of someoneās imagination or preconceived notion.
As has been stated repeatedly although to no effect with several posters, although the evidence isnāt perfect (and anyone in law enforcement knows this NEVER happens anyway) what evidence that is available comports with Zimmermanās rendition of the series of events. It does not comport with āanother perspectiveā which seems to consist of Zimmerman is guilty because Martin is dead. Thus we must massage or ignore the evidence because it doesnāt support our theory.
Further as several posters have said repeatedly, again to no effect on those who simply cannot accept a guy with a gun may be telling the truth, Zimmermanās interviews, testimony, depositions had few inconsistencies and none worth noting. In fact the investigating officer said he was amazed there were not more inconsistencies given the trauma of the night.
You might think that Zimmerman is some cold blooded trigger puller without feelings but I assure you that he was mentally and emotionally traumatized. That he was willing to immediately cooperate, did not demand an attorney, agreed to help stage a re-enactment, all indicates he was being truthful in his description of the series of events.
I donāt know if you have ever been the subject of a violent crime but I assure you that your brain freezes. My dearest friend was robbed at gunpoint as she tried to enter her hotel room in a āniceā area in Oklahoma City. Fortunately he took her purse and left the scene but when she was questioned by police she could barely talk and had blocked out many of the details regarding the robber. I looked out of my bedroom window having heard a sound outside and saw a man with a ski mask peering through the window. I froze, afraid to move. When the police questioned me, all I could remember were those eye holes in the ski mask. Couldnāt remember how tall, what color the mask wasā¦virtually nothing. That Zimmerman could relate details that were later corroborated with evidence, is truly amazing and much as you and other pooh pooh his Neighborhood Watch duties, itās clear he had the inner strength and ability to focus on helping the police with the investigation.
Again, itās all about the gun. Guy with gunā¦guilty! Facts do not matter to someone who is strangled by ideology.
