Bring the troops home!

As soon as they tie up loose ends in Pakistan.
 
One man is dead.
Now he is a martyr.
The US has just added fuel to the fire. We may have to be fighting longer than we expected.

I presume that you would be happier still if Obama was killed, as he supports the murder of thousands of innocent children every year.

I am really appalled by what I’ve just seen and heard on TV – that people are cheering and partying because one of God’s children was killed.
I can understand relief. But what difference will the death of this one man really make, besides making him into a martyr and hero in the eyes of his violent supporters.

It seems we are celebrating revenge.

Let us pray for Bin Ladin’s immortal soul instead.

If I recall, there was also another article on yahoo about wikileaks saying that if Bin Laden is captured or killed that they would set off a nuke somewhere in Europe. :eek:

Not really an apt comparison. Hitler was the leader of a very organized faction. Osama was a figurehead is a highly decentralized organization that thrives on the idea of martyrdom.

I don’t think it’s likely (at least I hope not) but many radical muslim extremists will see him as a martyr, and I guarantee at least one of his followers will try something because of it. 🤷
 
I was also disturbed by the celebrating, but we should not be surprised. I can certainly understand it considering the extraordinary circumstances. Brace yourself for when this subject comes up at work tomorrow.
 
The first thing I thought when I learned he was killed was how fitting it is for him to die on Divine Mercy Sunday. Because God knows he needs it.

You are talking about people who use 12 year old children as suicide bombers and fly planes into buildings, they are determined to do their worst and have been doing their worst all this time, they have not been holding anything back.

UBL was no figurehead. It was only because of the USA/NATO pressure on him that he was reduced from mastermind to a simple conspirator.

Edit: it appears from President Obama’s address that UBL died today, Divine Mercy Sunday, and not last week.

God bless the thousands killed on the orders of that vile man. God bless the families of the victims, may they have some peace and sense of justice.

Nope, he was killed today, though I did hear the same initial report that it was a week ago.

From the Presidents speech: “Today, at my direction, the United States launched a targeted operation against that compound in Abbottabad, Pakistan.”

This is not the end. Just watch the news.

But understand this, what was bin Laden doing in Pakistan? A country with its own nukes? I think they were helping him.

Just watch. In the next couple of weeks, you’ll see a nuke going off in Europe. The royal family of England will die and Prince Harry will be crowned King in Malta. You’ll see.
